*squeals like a small child and does a happy dance*

I know what will be eating my time for the next 5 years now. How I long to conquer the world once more with my legions! :D

The media section of the site has a couple more screen shots in addition to the front page.

The one concern I have for this is how they deal with factions; it better not be a case of having to buy DLC to obtain access to different factions like in Shogun 2. If it works just like the original Rome (where you could unlock some factions by completing objectives, and ALL factions by altering a config file), I'll be perfectly happy.

Apologies if there's a thread already covering this, but I didn't see it!

Holy moly are they screenshots? Surely not. I think they may be screenshots?

Don't think they're in game screenshots.

Yeah I'm not sure either, I did right click and save as and the file was called "rome-screen-1.jpg". Kinda made me 0.o

But they look a bit too good even for a 2013 game. If it is though... :D

Oh, great - happy bunny. :)

I still like the original, handy on the laptop, even if it is dated.

Well, this will feed my meglomaniac impulses.

It may even call me back to gaming. :eeek:

Apparently the naval combat is going to have massive improvements (though didn't they say that for Shogun 2?), to the extent that you will be able to have naval units on the same map as ground, opening things up for amphibious assaults etc.

    Regardless, I'll be buying.

This brings back fond memories of TRIARII!
I can't think of a Total War game I have disliked... though let's sweep Alexblunder under the rug, shall we?

Oh come on, they were useless. Put a whole load of easy targets (Town Watch, etc) near them, then send two cavalry around the flanks AND BOOM.

Hey, if you only have praetorian guard, I can troll a person for an entire match. Hilarious.

Eventually, they'll run out of arrows. They'll have to do a charge. Leave my praetorian guard in tortuga formation, and then unleash them. Now, only if I could play you on a server to prove this. :D

Yeah, you would win eventually. I lost to the PC once when they trolled me and I ran out of time.

Most of my armies consist of 2 equites, 2 praetorian cavalry, 4 legionary cohorts and 2 praetorian cohots(swap for arcani in woodland). Aux archers fill out the rear. Expensive to train though.:(

After playing the original Rome total war, can't wait for the follow up! Some serious hours will be racked up.
