Sorry - I'm probably being thick ,but I'm not sure what you get with the GAME version that you won't with the steam version (which for me is slightly cheaper).

Oh bloody hell, I CANNOT WAIT for this!!!!!!!!!! This looks awesome, from what I've seen of this so far I cannot believe that it won't be brilliant. But I still think that if something looks too good to be true it generally is but I don't want to even contemplate that. B****r it, I'll buy it even if it is rubbish (although I do't see how).
this looks amazing, absolutely cannot wait. the only 2 things that bug me are Max Squad sizes being too small, and that theres no more base defence missions. bring them back, and this looks like a GOTY contender already!
Finally placed an order for the Limited Edition of this just now. Not the one with the patch and all that since it's a f***ing GAME exclusive, but with the Elite Soldier DLC and all that jazz. Chuffed
The demo has gone live on Steam now. Comes in at a whopping 5.6GB download though! That's bigger than Borderlands 2!
Thanks for the heads-up downloading now! So many games out that I need to demo a few as my wallet is suffering from abuse! Hmm the demo was brief - it's hard to gauge whether I should get it or not.
Define "brief"? I would expect probably one mission, anything less (like you move troops, shoot a few rounds and thats it) is just terrible. But thanks for the heads up, have some rep! Demos arent what they used to be imo
Demo was enough to push me from a 'that looks really cool' to 'bought it' Thanks to Orca for pointing out how cheap it was on Green Man Gamaing - saved nearly a tenner on Steam's price
It was one mission, but more of a tutorial - it's nothing I haven't really already seen from videos really. I didn't say it was bad or anything by the way - it just wasn't quite enough for me to get into it and hanker for more.
ahhh played the demo, definitely got that nostalgia felling like playing UFO again. I reckon i will purchase it, need a change from GW2 and Flight sims.....
Yea demo was ok, few little hints of the other parts of the game, i recall the original xcom demo being similar, it showed some screenshots of various screens then launched you into a mission (actually that may have been terror from the deep, or both!). I think i will still get it, i found the interface a bit fiddly to see around the map, then i remembered in the original you didnt get any zoom or rotate etc lol.
