yesterday i was showing the worklog to a friend of mine
that can understand and appreciate this kind of work
and as soon as he realized that the pieces were hand crafted
with a saw, a router and lots of filing
he turned to me in awe and asked me
"this is unreal, is this guy serving a life sentence somewhere?":lol::lol:

This project should come with a health warning stating that this much awesomeness can lead to your bottom jaw hitting the floor in disbelief and shattering.

This is quite simply superb, that front grill is just perfect.

I went to the local 'size of a football field' hardware store, and bought the only pipe bender they had. I also bought 1.8mtrs of half inch copper tube to practice on (only 12 bucks). Straight away I could see that the tube was not a snug fit in the bender. I made a couple of bends and worked out how to make a bend without 'wrinkles'. But there was too much room for the pipe to spread out and flatten on the bend. I tried wrapping the pipe in enough masking tape to take up the slack in the bender, but this didn't work. So after a few tries I gave up and went back to my original plan. I should add that my heart wasn't really in this. I did want to use nice fittings on the bends, so I simply cut some straight pipes.

Anyway the res needed some modding so that it would be directly over the pump. The mounting bracket ears at the front were removed and cleaned up. I also made a suitable mounting bracket out of plex but neglected to take photos.

Some pipe clamps also needed to be made to secure the inlet and outlet pipes from the blocks. Here's the top one being made.

Here's the lower clamp polished up. These clamps bolt to the mobo tray.

And some general photos of the rationalized pipe layout.

Epic fitting clamps may I say, I have always loved the look of polished acrylic. Looking great Attila, I'm sure you'll get the hang of the tube bending.
