The only problem I have is that they take the pledge money instantly, from what I can understand, rather than when/if the project is funded.

Yes, but when you sign up you can tick a box for a refund if the game doesn't get funded.

I don't see why they don't just take pledges and charge everyone once it hits the target, like Kickstarter. Allows me to show my support for when I know I will have money available. As it stands, I'm less likely to pay hundreds of dollars (like I did with Planetary Annihilation), because I can't preplan my payments and have to have the funds available immediately.

    Bad planning, in my opinion.

Backed via Kickstarter this morning :D

Took the $30 digital tier with Alpha + Beta access. Seems weird though that they've limited both $30 tiers :eyebrow:

And lo, I doth drop $265 on this baby! See how a system that allows me to plan ahead, allows me to pay more? Had it stayed on their website, I wouldn't have even raised a hand to choose Scout.

Wow you are pretty keen! If I had the money I would do the same too. I'll probably just do $30 ish. I love kickstarter though because it feels good because you feel like you are playing an important part in supporting the game, and yet I don't feel like I'm 'giving' away my money because I actually get the game from it too. It's just good feelings all around, happy days for everyone :p

AND, there is the extra bonus that you are sticking it to the publishers who for the past decade or so, have refused to fund interesting games like this and instead go with so many safe yet boring options.

Lol yeah! Just out of interest I clicked refresh and it was ticking up faster than the seconds on my clock. I'm glad there is interest, the were some lame years when the space game seemed dead and buried, it feels so good that there are still people out there who support fun games that never should have been neglected.

    Exactly my sentiments!

    1. I get to support the games I like from their inception
    2. Better interaction between devs and the community
    3. No publishers green lighting things - we are!
    4. Its exciting

I know, I've missed RTS and Space Sims so much, and between this and Planetary Annihilation, I won't need to buy much else next year.

Does anyone know if the counter on his website now includes the total from Kickstarter?

Anyone got a stasis capsule I can borrow for a couple of years?

    a) It means I don't have to wait for this.
    b) If I don't spend anything for two years I might be able to afford the bits for a machine to run it.

I am very happy to be a part of this!

No, the counter on the website doesn't include any of the Kickstarter funds.
