First use would have been non-gaming related, I bet you. And me, insufferable? At least I don't need to swear to make a point.
Yes it probably was non-game related, but that's besides the point because it's been used to refer to games as well for decades now. I remember reading games magazines when I was a kid, around the era of Mario 64 and FFVII and they were using it then. ****ing numpty.
Games... The one thing that continuously attacks my money supply and will stop at nothing. I have just brought a lot of games and getting many more here's a list of whats to come. Medal of Honor Warfigher (Mine arrived this morning) Far Cry 3 Sim City (2013) Need for Speed Most Wanted Metro Last Night Battlefield 4 Watchdogs GTA 5!!!!!!!!!!!!! and im sure they will throw more at me :-D
Do you often go around joining communities and throwing insults around at people? You must be insufferable to be around...
I must admit, I'd assign app to mean application/utility rather than a game, too. But there we go. I'm really looking forward to Assassins Creed 3. Tomb Raider looks good, depends if it plays well. Most Wanted is the pinnacle of the NFS series for me, I hope the refresh is as good. Bioshock Infinite looks very good too although I can't help but feel it's going to play a lot like Dishonored [sp].
kissinger: Get an attitude check or get your coat, you've been oozing butthurt for a while now. Phalanx: Probably could've been a touch less trollgasm. A well referenced Wiki page is the point to hold up your hands and say "Oh, kk" not "I ain't nevr herd of that, must be lies!".
Yeah, no problem. 'Oozing butthurt'! LOL! To get back on topic: yeah, there does seem to be a fair few games worth buying. I'm especially looking forward to Dishonoured (didn't appeal to me at first, but I've heard a lot of good things), GTA V (screw playing an inevitable masterpiece like that on half a decade old console HW!) and BS: Infinite.
Dishonoured didn't look that good to me, but reading Joe's review persuaded me, and I've not been disappointed. The only problem is I'm not very good at it! Lots of potential for playing again though, definitely.
Can the thread title be changed, it's winding me up. Aliens: Colonial Marines is a game I'm hoping will be good.
As far as "Games that will make your PC beg for mercy and make you realize just how out of date it is:" Metro: Last Light. I remember A4 Games bragging about how they'd got it running maxed out at 50 FPS, 1080p. On a GTX 590. Oh dear lord my 550's are just not going to render that game out of fear. Beyond that; there's little coming up that'll munch upon system resources in much the same way Metro can devour GPUs. Bioshock: Infinite might manage it, dependant on how far they've taken the engine, and GTA V may run like ass just because it can, here's to hoping Rockstar don't make that mistake twice.
As am I! I'm just about to finish my current one, and I'll probably make a few changes in between, but that game is definitely worth a rebuild
Looking forward to see what the standalone of Dayz will bring, maybe not a killer app / game but had me hooked before i lost my internet 4 weeks ago by moving house, once i get my internet back im getting back into BF. Not sure what future games i am looking for but interested in Dishonored still and Far cry 3 maybe worth a shot But the most killer thing i need right now is real internet and not a hopeless dongle.
Am i the only one looking forward to Sim City...? I used the term "killer app" back in 2001 in my dissertation describing essential software that businesses needed to utilise to keep competitive. Back then I was describing email and instant messaging!
