Ok, and I know it's a silly question, but are the 325is worth £100 over the 225is?

In my honest opinion, no they're not. The difference is negligable, you're paying for the knowledge that it's "better".

I don't have golden ears by any stretch of the imagination and I wasn't sure if I could hear a difference or whether I was suffering from a placebo effect.

If you could find a 325i second hand for the same price as a new 225i I think it would be a far easier decision.

I'm still undecided whether I should go for anything at all.
Leaning towards either of the cheaper options (225i or DT880) and the shure se215s.

Could always get the pricey ones as well then sell on the ones I don't want, should be able to get my money back....

I've intentionally played it fairly safe, I like the way Beyerdynamic's sound and fit on my head and specifically round my ears which some circumaurals don't do. If I don't like them for whatever reason they'll fetch more or less full price on evilbay and I can try something else.

    Either way we're quids in.

Yeah, might just go for it and get a pair or two, still not sure which I'd go for though :p

    When does the offer end?

Since I didn't realise the offer ended at 9am, went into a panic.

    Ended up getting:
Audio Technica ATH-AD900 Open-Air Dynamic Headphones (for a friend)
    Shure SE215 Black Earphones
    Grado SR225i
    AKG Q701 Black Quincy Jones
    Beyerdynamic DT880 Premium (250 ohm)

Then I'll see which I like the most and sell the others on hopefully.

The GS1000is were sooo tempting (even though the rest of my setup wouldn't do them any justice, but I thought I could always upgrade the rest of it over time.
Didn't go for them in the end, 2 months of rent on headphones is more than enough I think....

    You'll love the Grado's.

I've got 3 pairs now & they sound great with any style of music I throw at them.

Just make sure you're using the best quality source that you can (no 128k mps's for example)

I have your SR60 in my grubby little hands as we speak, I'm shipping it off to you in a moment and PM you the tracking number. It "should" be with you tomorrow.

    Yup, received this morning too.

Lots of burn in time required, they're both very bright at the moment. Bear in mind they're only being run on a little iBasso D2 Boa portable headphone amp...

Haven't had anything since the original confirmation order email (at around half 2 this morning)
    They'll arrive Monday I guess.

For some odd reason my order had been put on a Saturday delivery, they turned up today anyway.

Their site says any orders placed before 2pm will be shipped that day, you may be lucky and receive everything tomorrow.

A whole weekend of auditioning headphones. I'm seriously looking forward to it. Just a shame I have to wait for my new amp.

Hopefully someone here could answer this for me:

What's an amp worthy of my HD598s for less than £100? I'm currently just using a Xonar DG, but I really like the idea of a Cmoy Tube amp.
