343bhp at 0.8 bar, need to weld the diff as it is open and might throw some large 8 pot Ksport brakes on

    Nice !

You might like what this guy did

Sure, it's a sacrilege to swap a rotary for a V8 but the result is amazing and the whole car is brand freakin' new

I've actually seen quite a few of these in the UK, it's quite a common conversion over here especially in the GEN 3 rx7.

That guy has done a pretty awesome job though.

Personally I think it's quite a cool mod, it's always nice to see what is achievable

    Awesomely lucky

Those fiat's are buckets of fun, plus since there dirt cheap he could hammer it to hell on a track until it throws a rod and not care.

Yep the fiat is a track day car for me and the old man to play with. If it blows its £bugger all to drop an engine in. Not the fastest, but it handles sweet and sounds just as good as the Aston on full tilt. Might get another prelude for track days as my last one was an n/a stripped out 272bhp brute that put alot of m3 noses out on a BMW track day at brands. But trying to find the model I want is kinda hard to find in good nick

I'm no expert, but isn't that actually moderately conservative power figures from an H22 considering the full rebuild? (If not, then what a testament to Honda's powerplants that they're able to put 70% of that figure in an everyday road car.)

Standard it was 200bhp but the h22 is harder to fettle compare to the likes of the b16/b18 were there was plenty of available parts. Most of the parts had to come from japan/usa. The vtecs were very good from the factory so you have to use some extremely good parts to make more hp. Didn't want to go down the turbo route as I wanted usable power which being the h22 had a lot more grunt in the midrange compared to its younger siblings.

I've just finished washing, clay baring, washing again, polishing and waxing, my ST170. The worst part? It's just shown up all the little blemishes the previous owner didn't tend to. Ahwell, there's not enough to get upset about:

at least it's still photogenic. my ranger has several little scratches that wont buff out but luckily, like your focus, they dont show up even with a good camera. love those wheels too.

Yeah, that's why I'm not overly bothered. I need to get some mechanical work done before I start spending money restoring the paintwork, and the alloys have dibs (All sorts of blisters in the finish, and sadly, the previous owners were non too careful around curbs).

Had a quote to get them all done that's barely shy of four hundred :(

I miss the fun drive of my old ST170... but not the fuel and tax bills! That looks like a clean little car, bound to have a few imperfections for something that's 10 years old :)

I'd get a set of clear indicator lenses for front - looks much better de-tango'd.

Yeah, the tax is pretty rough. Fuel isn't so bad, work pays for most of it.

Exactly, although I do plan to get them sorted, they're just not top of the list - single mass fly, exhaust swap, and a new ceramic coated manifold are first on the list. I have looked at the de-tangoed head lights, but I'm holding off on that until I retrofit the comfort pack, don't fancy doing the clear job on these only to have to do it again on the xenons.

    £270/year and ~30mpg are hardly bank-breaking costs!

Having driven a few Focus' I keep thinking these are a bargain at c. £1k for one that needs a bit of tweaking, although the strange engine character puts me off. Perfect donor for a kit car though! They'd go great in a Westfield, peak power at 7k is perfect for something buzzy and light.
