    Snowflake by Combatus, on Flickr

Took a few shots today during the snowfall using an extension tube and telephoto lens. This one was my favourite.

It is a shame about the light polution in that last photo, what colour was the sky?

the sky was exactly that colour. I think the snow reflected all the street lamps since the night sky is very very orangey yellow lately.

I do sort of like the third, its got a weird feel to it.

I'd been considering getting a filter for night time shots.

filter for night time shots? what kind?

the fancy ones that creates stars out of light sources? I like those, they look cool.

You mean a bokeh filter i think. You make your own quite easily actually :)

I was thinking this about that photo aswell actually.

A snowflake shaped bokeh filiter would have been amazing on that.

Just one to try and cut down the light pollution, I think a blue filter should cut out a lot of the orange from the street lights. Although you'd probably need to add a couple of stops to compensate for the loss of street lighting.

I've briefly looked at bookeh filters, quite fancy just making one but I'm not that crafty.
