Thanks for reviewing this, will read during lunch! TR is one of those franchises that I've always played, even if through rose tinted glasses with some of them. Just because it brings back fond memories of the original on my P75 Packard Bell.

I started this one last night and went in completely neutral. 45 minutes later and I'm really impressed! Glad I'm not the only one judging by the score.

Really good game half way through and loving it, only have two things bad to say about it.
    1, To much button mashing Push E E E F
2, Not enough puzzles as the old one's had to solve.

People having issue on Nvdia 600 series boards turn off Tesslation and Exclusive Full screen mine has not crashed since i turn them off waiting for Nvdia to release new drivers.

I have been loving this game. There are quite a few QTEs but that doesnt bother me at all.
I haven't been able to come up with any faults with the game.
The PC port is fantastic. - The graphics are great and there are no bugs that I've found so far. (Nearly completed it.)
The story is reasonably engaging and is enjoyable.

Honestly wasn't expecting much and am happily surprised.

Haven't played it yet, but the gameplay vids look great!

    Good work on the review

    (btw, expanded images don't work!)

I completed it 2 days after it came out, I rushed through it a bit which I regret as there was a lot more to explore and appreciate that I didn't get to. I found it to be a great game and I'm very glad I took the pre-order gamble on it (did it mostly for the great deal on greenman which allowed me to get this, Bioshock infinite, Mafia 2 and Bioshock 1 for £40)

Great game, but too much crying, grunting and moaning, honestly when she's in full flow, sometimes it sounds like porn movie.

    Calm down dear, calm down.

Other than that, fully enjoying it, and it's the first time my 360 joypad has felt completely natural in a game.

    Back on topic...
Can anyone comment on the rumoured optimisation issues, and overall length of the SP campaign?

Batman's Cape could be rendered via CPU so it was the same on all platforms, TressFX uses double precision shaders. Strangely enough I can get the hair working fine for a while, and then all of a sudden it decides to lock to 1fps. I'm awaiting drivers from /Nividia to resolve this as they were only given 2-10 days before the release date to see the code.

I was ready to hit buy for this, but then talk of QTE's spoilt it... How often are they?

Probably shouldn't be looking at any games as I've got another Square Enix masterpiece half-completed atm. FF7 is a real time sucker!

Not only a driver update is needed, NVidia have stated that CD will need to change some of the code as well.

It kinda seems to me AMD wanted to shut out NVidia to some extent, but this "agreement" has come round to bite CD in the back side.

Nah, anti-competition malarkey is a dangerous game to get into. I doubt they would try something so blatant.

I have few issues with the game.
    "L.A.R.A." :
-her skin is more resistant to abrasion than truck tires
-she can take more damage than the famous nanosuit in Crysis
-she heals miraculously even without magical potions
-the jumps she makes should tear the arms out of the sockets; the guy in the Deus-Ex Human Revolution had all his limbs cut off and replaced and is still 95% behind this creature
-while all other protagonist take normal paths, she must rival Spiderman to arrive where others simply walk in
-imagine how much money would she make by playing lotto; everything crumbles, however the one piece she grabs resists
-she is made of asbestos; climbs on a burning building so that she can show the "jump" in the chopper; the chicken does not roast and has even a build in smoke filter and O2 regeneration machine (the gang just walks to her, when the chopper falls down)

The game is also extremely psychically stressful for the player because of the unpleasant setting, madness and all "near" outcomes.

Interesting. So it'll work on 580, 570, GTX titan (as they have DP units) but not anything else? Research required!

Yep, see my thread here: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=257370

Maybe the game and future released games should be reviewed, and also scored on how well it plays from both GPU teams, as this sucks for NVidia owners! I would give this game 1 for the simple fact I can't play it!:(
