Going to be working in Lake Garda for the summer and I'm taking my desktop with me. But I'm massively out of the loop.

The last "big" game I played (and sometimes still do) is CoH. I love the look of Arma2 and remember the original Far Cry fondly. Loved GRAW2 a few years back. And obviously Deus Ex and Starcraft/Total Annihilation. Mate just showed me the trail for Battlefield 4 and it looks lush.

However, before I get all carried away, budget is virtually non-existent. So I want to know what, if anything, I could play on my machine as is:
Pentium G620 (Sandybridge) on Z77 board
    8gig
    64gig M4 (it's full, so thinking of getting a 120 or 240gig 840)
    Radeon 6670 1gig GDDR5

Help please! I want to game again!

As a system it'll play games reasonably well - mainly helped by the 6670 - but nothing ultra-modern nor on high settings.

New games that should play decently:
    Bioshock Infinite
    Borderlands 2
    Dishonored
    Anno 2070
    Deus Ex HR
    Skyrim

If you're looking at upgrades I would be immediately looking at upgrading your GPU to, say, a 7790 1GB or a 650Ti 2GB Boost, and if you don't have one, a mechanical hard drive for game installs (keeping your 64GB M4 as a boot drive for Windows only). Beyond that, a CPU upgrade to an i5 Quad would be useful for modern titles. Doing all three will open you up to the more intensive titles (Battlefield 3 etc).

A little older games that you might want to consider as well:

    Bioshock
    Bioshock 2
    Mirrors Edge
    Borderlands 1
    Civilization 5
Stalker (all of them, don't listen to the naysayers)
    Alan Wake
    Dead Space
    Portal 1+2
    Darksiders
    Torchlight 1+2
    Starcraft 2

There's also a veritable horde of indie games you can go for, or simply more 'casual' types:

    The Cave
    The Walking Dead (Telltale episodic)
    Deadlight
    Hotline Miami
    BIT.TRIP.RUNNER
    Cave Story+
    VVVVVV
    Super Mear Boy

    Other titles:
Black Mesa (First 1/2 of Half Life re-done), free!
    Half Life 2 + Episodes 1&2
    Bastion
    Fallout: New Vegas
    Mass Effect 1-3
    Tropico 4

Thanks guys, I'll check those out.

    A few things:
I'll be upgrading the SSD either way, as 2gig free is not acceptable. I just may go for the 120 instead of the 240. Although I do also have around 7TB of HDD storage in the machine.
    I'm at 1920x1080.
I'd like stuff with maximum single player capability as I'm unlikely to have full bandwidth internet in my apartment.
Anything that has a sim element would be cool. I doubt I could play Arma2 or DayZ, but something along those lines would be cool.
For example, if I wanted to play something like Battlefield 4 what's the minimum I could spend on a GPU (I prefer AMD, but I'm open to suggestions if it's cheap).

Leave the PC at home and start hanging out with the Italian ladies (or men)and enjoy the sunshine!

A cracking suggestion! Will be taking the PC though. As I don't have a laptop that can cope with Lightroom and I want to be taking photographs. Also, I need something to watch TV/movies on in the evening and a Dell 23" IPS is much nicer than any laptop.
