I can't tell if that's a shame or not. But thanks for the update Mankz.

I'm not usually this way inclined but I must say this has been a day I've been waiting for for a long time.

I'm sure many of the people who hate her and are celebrating her death weren't either born when she was prime minister, or don't even know why they hate her and why they are celebrating.

To celebrate someone's death is quite frankly sickening to me.

I won't celebrate her death. But i'm not really going to mourn it either. I'm pretty neutral on this. But i agree that celebrating her death is a pretty disgusting thing to do. It doesn't matter what kind of prime minister she used to be; the fact is that she is now an important part of this country's history.

In many people's opinion she ruined this country, so expect a lot more vitriol in the coming weeks.

I think my mum's going to be dancing a jig when she finds out...

As for me, never mind, 87's a good score and she wasn't all there the last few years anyway, worse things happen.

#Edit: I totally underestimated my mum, she's called me just to tell me that Thatcher's died and that she's having a great day.

Thank you for putting an intelligent response so early on, before the firing between camps begins.

I wish I could say the same for out latest games editor . His tweets are to put it midly, sharp of the tongue when it comes to her passing.

She may as well have been dead for years as far as I'm concerned.

Not to defend the woman but the fact is that some of the massive cuts she had to make in her time were sometimes necessary otherwise we may never have recovered from the recession back then. Sometimes she did push it too far.

Im an utter die-hard Tory, its in my blood and all that, and I'm convinced what she did was good, to a point. She stood up to the Unions and got things moving again... but she took privatisation too far, thats for sure.. what i'd give for state run rail again.

And I wish they'd bring back poll tax...

She did a lot of good as well as some pretty awful things- but I agree its not on to celebrate a death for someone who isn't evil, just trying to do what she saw to be best for her country.

I've been in a near constant state of asking myself "Is she dead?" for about 5 years. It's a shame for her cos Osborne and Cameron are doing her proud right now and she won't get to see the fruits of it. Tissue anyone?

Most people don't realise what the situation of the UK was before her. Especially with the Winter of Discontent and how the Unions ran the country, which if Ed comes into power the Unions will trample all over him again

    This.

In the end she did just do what she thought was best for our country. She was never popular and made that hard choice to do what she thought was right rather than trying to be a popular prime minister.

I'm pretty sure everyone except the wealthy are going to suffer a hell of a lot if Osbourne goes through with more of these cuts. Maybe not as much as in Thatcher's time, but pretty close.

Hence the use of the words "in many people's opinion" ;)

I'll keep my opinions to myself on this one. Largely because I have been disillusioned by politics since I learned what the word meant some time during the middle of her reign as Overlord of the United Kingdom of Northern Ireland.
