Must go to the new Tomb Raider.

Switching back to 2d and the game actually looks like crap. It's actually one of the finest game examples of pop out 3d I've seen. Crysis 3 I can take or leave in terms of 3d versus 2d but Tomb Raider is absolutely essential in 3d.

Racing sims are also nice in stereoscopic. Dirt 3, Race 07, F1 2011.

    Roll on Oculus Rift HD...

Speaking of Oculus Rift... Anyone here got the dev kit?

No, don't think so.... I feel a little like we've let ourselves down.

You've let us down. I expected more.

I have a friend in the US who got his order in early but he's still waiting. He's a real VR nut and has the sony HMZ or whatever it's called.

I watched the TF2 Oculus reveal and it looked pretty good but I don't think I can bear another low-res HMD.

I had the PC3D many years ago and the quality was awful. It did however give a glimpse of how good games could be when sitting on your head.

Do you need special glasses for this Stereoscopic 3D ?

I was looking at the setting in the cotrol panel the other night and wanted to try it out when I have some time.

    Cheers.

    Great, thx Teel.

It will have to be the cheap seats for now so I will grab a pair of those and give it a whirl.

Thx for the link also :)

    Uh.....yes it is :eyebrow:

Those red/blue glasses (aka 3D vision discover) just use a much, much shittier version of stereoscopic 3D which doesn't require the outlay of a 120Hz panel or active shutter glasses. Stereoscopic is just the method of implementing 3D where the image is split into two (hence stereo) instead of both eyes seeing the same image and there are numerous methods for achieving it, some better and more expensive than others. Congrats on spreading your misinformation though :thumb:

On topic, I haven't tried the new Tomb Raider game (might have to though from the sounds of it) but the best use of 3D in a game I've played is Trine 2.

I've heard Trine 2 is great. Not tried it.......

I am quite interested in Metro last light because of the quality of the visuals and the detail in the game (dark, compelling and believable world... everything bioshock infinite isn't).

The original Metro fully supported 3d glasses and Last Light does too. I think they recommend a 690 for 3d vision on that game.
