Thanks. I like shadows too, for sure, but not the back-lit or side-lit kind. The Il-38SD shot shows the kind of light I favour for daylight shooting.

EDIT: Here's an example of overcast light. Same bird, same day, shot around 1100-1115h. When the whole image is light sort of flat, you can expose for shadows without blowing highlights, and then getting contrast to a more attractive level is less effort and also looks nicer than a harshly-lit bright sunshine shot. The image is a little cool, I haven't adjusted WB, just contrast to illustrate what I like about overcast shooting.

Ah, Enchanted Rock. I really need to get back there one of these days. We went climbing there when I was in Boy Scouts, and I have some fond memories of that place. It's a good drive from where I am, so I need to find a good 3-day weekend and make the trip. I definitely see some camping in the near future.

    DTM Great Britain.

Only managed to visit on race day (today), so only had limited opportunities for shots since its a single race. Had lots of fun though, here are a few. Feedback welcome.

Such a shame they don't do the full circuit at Brands! Was it a good spectacle?

Totally agree. The cars are awesome to see and hear. Flame spitting 650bhp demons.

They really do deserve the full GP circuit. It was still worth going, a lot less people than BTCC or BSB though

I'm so super jealous of you being able to go to all of these events when I'm stuck at work :waah: :waah:

Ooooh, that's a very pretty spot (and well captured). I'd love to throw a model on that rock :D

Did some video at a Sailability event over the weekend, managed to grab a couple of stills.

Also the first time I've got to properly try out my Cokin NDs, had the 154 and 153 in the whole day. Definite purple cast but nothing Lightroom can't handle.

Another wedding weekend. I tried something new this time by setting up a 3-flash improvised studio in the church's hallway for a quick bridal portrait session.

Well, you know as well as I do it's not a proper shoot unless the model cries :hehe:

How are you guys liking the new Flickr layout? I'm quite cheesed off that I can't pick a cover image from anything older than the 100 most recent uploads.
