News Sony PS4 price set at £349 ($399)

So, when can I throw my money towards Sony?

 

So 350 is fine, but **** me sideways, 90 for a second controller (according to Amazon)?

That's pretty steep.

 

Hopefully that'll drop, could just a guess by Amazon until Sony give a price for peripherals?

Im happy if MS got shown up at e3! All their DRM crap really annoyed me! Especially the second hand games. That was a real deal breaker for me.

Well I never, looks like a bargain for me, particularly as I am already locked into SEN ecosystem for PS3/Vita games and Music etc. I would of paid more.

 

now all sony need to announce is the ability to keep your current PSN account + games and voila , sorted

 

I'm pretty sure they said you'd be able to keep your PS+ account, so I'm guessing the PSN will work the same.

 

had a good read of the announcements and gonna go out on a limb (which PS4 wont like)


Xbox One will win Christmas 2013.

great , we saw a lot of awesome titles for PS4 BUT , what was the 1 overriding observation? they are pretty much all 2014 release.

whilst xbox will have a swarth of AAA titles on day 1.

 

THis is the start of the end for microsoft..So damn happy games on PC are moving progressively on linux.
Back on track, PS4 is a genuinly valid alternative to the PC experience at that price point for all it offers. They hit most of the right buttons, if not all. IT's a difficult decision to scrap backwards compatibility but it was inevitable, and they did a good job of the whole cloud gaming thing to compensate.

Also, their ad campaign? Bloody brilliant...

Exactly. Games used to be really expensive... £40 a pop. And it's not like a chocolate bar where you can just shrink it or say "new bigger bag" and charge more for the same amount as before.

 

Friend of mine pointed me at a list of prices, supposedly the controllers should be 54 - Hoping amazon just dropped a bollock on that one and haven't updated it yet.

 

Some n64 for games rose in price due to lack off supply I remember when orcarina of time sold out and game/EB, gameplay etc raised the price

 

I'v not had a ps since ps2,If I where to buy a console ,I'd defo go with sony this time.
That's a biy ''if'' tho. I'd rather buy a gtx770.

 

So far the list of confirmed PS4 launch day titles does look a little lack luster, but there is still time for publishers to get that sorted....

Rumor has it some of these maybe finished by launch

Once again the cheaper original price of a console is offset by additional costs for things that are free on PC. I was only matter of time before Sony decided they wanted to cash in too, as Microsoft have proved people are stupid enough to accept it.
