Now all we (I) need are switches (greens and whites) from 7bit...

Hmmmm it appears that I may now own one of them there HPE 87 keyboards... Hopefully it is built solidly enough, if I decide to keep it then step one is to remove/hide that logo. I will probably be selling my Leopold if I keep the HPE, so anyone interested let me know.

CCL do the same actually (ANSI picture but ISO layout) so you'll more than likely get the ISO (UK) version :thumb:

    Edit:

    May be price depending...

I will put up a for sale post in the next couple of days. Margon expressed some interest based on my wanted thread a few days ago, I am not sure if he is still interested but I will give him first refusal anyway.

I am interested to see what the HPE is like, some have said the keycaps are terrible quality (compared to what, I don't know) and others have said they feel no worse than stock Filco caps, which isn't a massive endorsement but at least means they are useable. I will replace the stock caps in the very near future, but might just let them shine the hell up first :)

Edit: For anyone is interested this Ducky Shine 2 is apparently US ANSI layout. I contacted the seller and they said it was "exactly like the picture". So just to check I asked what the enter key was like and again they said it was exactly like the picture.

Welcome to the world of eshops. Why would they bother creating real photos of the products, when they can just use the stock photo from the manufacturer ? Different keyboard layout ? Insignificant detail. :D

I bought a CM QFR from Scan a few weeks ago and it came as an ISO board when the picture was ANSI.

Cool - that's actually made me very happy! I'll get it tomorrow so expect plenty pics. Anybody else have a white CM Storm board?

De-soldering is messy... 128 switches removed - anyone want any blacks?

desoldering is boring. I alternate between pump and wick to stem off boredom haha. I need some kind of real deal sucking machine, the thumb click pumps are a pain in the ass. wicks are fun for about 2 seconds.

I am doing some smd things - tiny resistors

Maybe, I'm in need of switches (and cases and caps) for my 2 GH60 PCBS (when they arrive). What would you be wanting for them?

Heh I still have an EPOS keyboard full of blacks in good nick... my son loves to play on it but maybe one day I'll do some tinkering with it.

Having said that about backlighting etc., I think I may just manage to live with it... :jawdrop:

Looking good in white there. Still not sold on the font, but it's an interesting form factor.

Something to do with NumLock being on at a guess.

Yep. Numlock is what toggles the arrow keys on/off; F12 is the windows key lock, and the FN key lights up when pressed or when held for a few secs. As for the browns, the tactile feedback is so subtle that they feel very similar to blacks/reds (to me, at least).
