Emermax 455w psu Monitor resolution: 1680 x 1050 Storage requirements: maybe ssd, Will you be overclocking: yes Any motherboard requirements (no. of USB, Xfire/SLI, fan headers): got 4 shark cooling fans doing a good job in the antec 300 Extra information about desired system: dont mind either flavour of cpu also this Unigine Valley Benchmark 1.0 FPS: 21.4 Score: 894 Min FPS: 11.6 Max FPS: 36.5 sucked
How about this? Get a few more posts on here and you can get free shipping from Scan, saving £9.15, bring it to a shade over £600. For that you'll get a good build - Overclockable CPU on a solid board, plenty of RAM and a highly decent GPU. This would form the core of a very competent system for any future upgrades as well. The only thing I would want to add, if the budget could be pushed, is a CPU cooler of some kind (second hand?) and an SSD at a later date. A decent SSD is about £100-150 (depending on size), so really blows your initial budget. AMD would be cheaper, but an Intel i5 quad is going to be faster. Planetside 2 also has a thing for fast CPUs.
http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=261689 my advice to someone else, however you will need to add ram to that (which wouldnt be much to be honest)
Guys, advice much appreciated, I must admit I am not a total novice (haha he says) so I have come up with this tweaked list, just about within budget, but no ssd: http://www.scan.co.uk/savedbasket/258d1b8943924a14b3a797938a5f593c
Looks good, although you've got a retail CPU in there that will come with a (distinctly average) cooler - switch to the OEM model.
Cei, cheers, i have gone for the silverstone ar01 as the aftermarket cooler, no need for the stock one as you say but the rertail is cheaper Elton, as for the video card I thought the gtx760 was the daddy at this price range? £200
Depends. I think it's very possible to find a HD7950 for cheaper, overclock it to hell and it would be a bit faster. Plus dat delicious VRAM.
