Just think, a new member would never have known that you presided over Bit during its most successful stint. You probably don't hear it any more, but thanks for those days Keep up one post a year, and you can add a signature in 2019. Plus you'll get marketplace access in 2084!
Hadn't thought of myself as a lurker until you quantified it as less than 1 post per day Shirty (I was on 0.97 before this post). I visit the site daily and read through a lot of threads but only post if I feel it is worthwhile and adds something to the thread. As my knowledge is relatively limited my input is usually unnecessary.
Doesn't stop me Your spamming skills are weak. I re-registered in April 2010 and due to other commitments I was a lurker. I managed to scrape up to 75 posts by January 2012. Then my home/work commitments changed a bit and I started posting. Quite a lot. Under my original login I managed less than 500 posts in the four years I used the site, and I lurked for about 6 months before I registered. So I too was once a hardcore lurker - twice. Also, I'd qualify a lurker as someone who reads the forum almost daily and has done for quite an extended period, but very rarely posts anything. It's a bit like watching your friends enjoying themselves in the pub from a lonely doorway (whilst touching yourself, maybe).
0.13 posts per day - just behind Joe TD on 0.12 ppd Arthur on 0.09 ppd, but tmatthew romping it with a score that doesn't even register 0.00 ppd - well done the quiet man
Although your actual post count is 244. Krikkit just reduced your post count since you were humorously spamming to get marketplace access
Shirty my profile page has gone up since you mentioned my missus arse.lol if i get another couple of hundred hits i will change the pic
As far as I'm concerned we need spammers, lurkers and all shades between to make a forum a success. Everyone (well mostly everyone), likes to see the regulars posting and its really needed in build threads to help motivation but at the same time, if everyone posted as much as you do it would be far too difficult to find the needle of useful info among the haystack of gibberish!
I was a lurker for a long time on here. Then I discovered the joy of Bit-tech as a community. Plus the general thread has raised my post count quite a lot recently.
I lurked before i joined, joined and lurked some more. My explanation (I refuse to call it an excuse, because I'm not doing anything wrong!) is because I'm too lazy to post. I'll leave it to you spam hungry types.
All part of the rich tapestry of forum life It's just sometimes nice to see who's hiding in the shadows. No need for elegance with me, but absolutely true nonetheless
Don't do it!!! I only stopped lurking a few months ago, and I've gone from almost no rep to being a rep cheat... I FEEL SO DIRTY!
