This is beginning to get like hollywood....

Lets bring everything back.... because there is no such thing as original thought anymore :/

Seriously loved this game as a kid and played it to death, but really they should just let it lie as a classic of its day, where games didnt need decent storylines, characters who speak or fancy graphics to be fun.

I don't mean to sound like a hater, but these games weren't every really that great. Doesn't seem like it needs a 'reboot' or 'revival'. Let it fade into gaming history.

On the other hand, I guess fans will speak with their wallet... what better way to find out if it deserves attention.

This is usually the fault of the publishers and other funders rather than the developers - most publishing houses (and Hollywood movie studios) seem to have become risk-averse over the last few years, so all we see is a repetition of a formula that might have been successful a few years ago...:sigh:

Sadly, James Pond is after my time...;)

    Exactly what I was thinking.
It was a generic platformer created to make use of a pun. Just because it was successful back then mean it was any better or different than the hundreds of similar platformers around at the time.

I just remember flying round in a bathtub. Showercap and all. I was much more of a fan of 'Fire and Ice' though.

It was no Magic Pockets but it did have charm. I mean yeah, none of the computer based platformers were even near a Mario game but it saved having to buy a console...

Rose tinted glasses maybe, but had a lot of fun with James pond on the megadrive, and its not like you can easily get old consoles working with modern tv's so why not update and bring back the gameplay as that was what counted back then... Same reason y I will be getting the ducktails remake, now if only they remake jungle strike, rolo to the rescue, bubsy, cosmic spacehead and micro machines 2....

Plus I love the version of the Robocop theme tune in robocod :D

Just don't scratch and sniff the back cover of the book, it doesn't work :sigh:

You would not believe how many copies of that I saw in WHsmith with the back of the book scratched to all merry hell.

Why would you want to smell some one's arse? :D

There's still plenty of new games/music etc being made out there, you just might have to look a bit further than the mainstream. That's always been true though (and people have always been complaining about the 'death' of creativity for just as long).
If you want to play James Pond, you might as well look on one of the many abandonware websites. I won't post a link here, but google will find it.
