    Bought some train tickets/underground.

Heading to London Thursday for a book signing and possible pubbage for one or two with the author.

I am going because the author happens to be a twitter friend of mine, who I have conversed with over the past few years. This will be the sequal to a book she released a few years ago now.

Can't wait to read it and meet her at last.

Rather chuffed with the order. My trusty 5870 has served me exceptionally well for the last 3 years, it's time for it to retire.

I was sorely tempted to throw a 12GB tri-channel RAM kit in there, but there is no point really. I have 6GB (cannot afford to get the same stuff again, it's €230+) and although the BF4 beta brough RAM usage up to 92% at times, I put that down to poor optimisation.

BF4 will mean I'll have to upgrade my card soon as well - I plan on doing that at the end of this month because that's when BF4 is coming out and handily it's also when my back dated pay from my promotion is due to be paid ;)

Yesterday I bought some batteries. £100 worth of batteries, actually :worried:

Great choice! :thumb: Are you running it from an amp or straight from source?

I will get the 880 pads for my Custom One Pros soon-ish. And probably install some mesh instead of the closed back.

    Did you have silver before?

Tangster: care to link to the cable? I'm curious about re-cabling my UE IEMs, and they use a shure connector (assuming you were talking about IEMs).

    Cable link
Not for my shures. I have a silver cable for my IE80. If I'm honest, I buy silver cables because they look nicer than copper, not because they magically improve the sound.

Nice 'phones Pook! From Massdrop? I've been considering a set of Beyers myself- I need something with far more bass than my 598s for rock music.

Running from on board audio on the PC at the moment. I have a Fiio E10 on order though.

I got them from hifiheadphones.co.uk Ordered at 2pm, here by 10am next day.

There are bassy, but these are not basshead's phones. The bass is subtle, tight, and well controlled. You get real, deep rumbling sub, but it's never overpowering. The best way to describe these phones is "uncoloured", "Accurate" and "Bright". There's a slight sibilance to highs, but it's not a deal breaker, and I'm being really critical here. Overall, they were what I expected based on the fact they've been such a highly regarded headphone for such a long time.

That's what I need really. For accuracy, detail and separation my 598s have been beyond perfect. Now I'm looking at particular albums and thinking I really need something with more punch. I'm annoyed I missed them on Massdrop now!
