This is how we do it in England
If anyone is in the Redcar and cleveland area and want to see hundreds of bikers dressed as santa, we will be riding on Nov 30th

 

We had this for many years until it was closed down this year due to red tape and organiser in-fighting.

The bikers were respectful and truly inspirational for taking the time to raise so much money over the years. Bikers from all over Europe attended.

The only moaning from other motorists was road closures for a couple of hours on a sunday morning. Good god how they moaned!!! <----That was the demote part

 

The town where I grew up used to have a biker rally in aid of disadvantaged kids. The ones that brought the real trouble were the scooter rallies...

 

Should point out that I was highlighting the lack of helmets in the top picture rather than the presence in the bottom.

 

Old school mentality- I suppose if one doesn't ride/ drive like an idiot then helmets aren't so important... until you go over a pothole or someone cuts you up etc & then your head gets mushed all over the road like jelly & spaghetti...

Makes me laugh actually- some dude a little while back died of head injuries after coming off his bike during a rally to protest against helmet laws.. he wasn't wearing a helmet...

 

Both lots are total twonks as they're sleeveless and wearing jeans, neither of which exactly helps stop gravel rash. Leathers and armour aren't supposed to look cool, nor are they exactly comfortable unless you're lucky enough to perfectly fit a stock size or get them made to measure (that might be different if you're in to restriction but horses for courses et al). They're meant to help you survive the next idiot that says "I didn't see him/her!" and wipes you out I've lost too many friends that way to see anything other than a bunch of muppets who aren't paranoid enough to be riding a bike. Yes, it's a great feeling but very few people are looking out for you, you're kind of squishy and it only takes one hit for you to be off the road. Those pics? The lack of armour in both? The fact that any of them in the photos would be lucky to only need skin grafts if/when they come off and nobody comments? That's demotivational.
