Freelancer variants will happen, yes. However, I've totally gone off the Freelancer to be honest, it just lacks the wow factor.

So, I now have an F7C-M Super Hornet and an F7C-S. The tracker looked vaguely interesting to fill an AWACS type role, but I felt it really needed a fleet to fly with to be at its best. I did melt down my Aurora LN to recover $35, as I'd come to accept the LX was enough.

Incidentally, the video was amazing. The score was great, and the visuals really impressive - and all in game. The chase pilots were lousy shots though.

EDIT: Spotted this in the brochure:

    * The Super Hornet’s second seat has no rigidly assigned role. It can be used for:
    • Command seat for coordinating multiple wingmen (ideal for multi-craft organizations).
    • Weapons officer — running missiles, countermeasures, turrets & damage control.
    • Lockdown seat for bounty hunters; live targets can be secured here.
    • High-value passenger seat (or just a chance to fly a friend around).

I like the Freelancer, it may not be flashy but it's a solid all rounder. I'm only planning to start with one ship and earn the rest in game and the Lancer fits the bill for some trading and exploration :)

Best is, that's in game graphics, rendered at 4k.

Hmmmm, go super for the bigger power plant or remain patient and just buy the ball turret in game....
    Choices, choices.....

I do love the blacked out paint job on the stealth version mind.....

I haven't been tempted by any of the ships before, but I thought I would take a look at this Hornet as it looked very nice. On my screen it looks remarkably like it costs 144 Euros - is this correct?

I haven't really been keeping up with this thread so please forgive my delayed exclamation of cost, but I just thought I would check that I was reading this correctly.

You can change the currency to dollars and it costs less.

    Normal hornet is $110
    Ghost Hornet is $125
    Tracker Hornet is $140
    Super Hornet is $165

Nice, but seeing as I'll probably never end up on a capital ship, not all that relevant for me personally. The $25m is the really important goal for us, EU servers for the dogfighting module!

Also, I like the way the stretch goals have become smaller and more manageable. They are still there, as an achievement, but don't make me worry about feature creep.

Hmmm, I'm ever so slightly tempted to junk my Cutlass.

I think I was taken in by the marketing of it as a pirate ship (yaaar!) but as time goes by, the more I think I won't use it for that purpose, especially as said activities could easily stop me doing stuff with my mates (who are all goody two-shoes) ¬¬

The game is going to be made already!

Pour money into hardware if anything to enjoy the game more!

By the time it's fully released...

    £600 GTX 880
    £1200 GTX 880 SLI
    £350 Oculus Rift HD
    £280 Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog

Who knows, maybe even the latest 8 core Intel CPU with matching Motherboard and RAM! :D

Ha ha! This is the reason I’ve bought any more ships. I’ve had a Star Citizen/Oculus hardware fund running since January, I just put all my loose change in there, and under no circumstances do I crack it open.

I’m planning something a bit more meagre than the above.

A 3570k (only so that I can access PCIe 3.0 speeds on my motherboard)
    SLI GTX 680s 4GBs
    X52 Pro
    Oculus Rift

Although to be honest at rift resolution you're not going to need a monster rig to power the display!

Only for when the goggles come off beyond standard HD.

    With a 3570k at 4.6 oc'd sli 670 4GB card I get about 15fps at 2560x1080 on high,

I'm looking to upgrade before the release to the 800 series.

What fps are you guys getting in the hanger module?

I reckon my FPS is in the 30's (I'll check when I get home though) with a 4.4ghz 3570k and an overclocked 780 @ 2560 X 1080, saying that it must be very unopmtimised as there is no reason the hanger module should run so badly.
