Cheers Tom. That looks like a decent deal actually. Im not bothered about getting the extras that are eventually unlockable, but would like the china rising dlc from day 1 and of course the premium add on so that I get the DLC's as they come out.

If you preorder the base game now- be it disc or code you will get the first dlc- china rising.

I dont really see the point with buying premium at the start- china rising is released december 3rd, the second dlc will be round easter and by then Premium will be half price or less on origin etc.

 

Half price premium on Origin with 4 of the 5 map packs still to come out? I don't think so.

 

Its how i bought it for BF3, it may have been between the 2nd and third dlc when origin went half price.

 

I got a combined deal on BF3 from Amazon, which included premium and BF3 base game all in one box after the 3rd DLC was released. It was £32 all in!

 

I got something like that too, it was around the release of Armoured Kill, so probably a year away for Bf4 at least!

I bet once China rising comes out Premium will drop somewhat in price, if not from EA then third parties.

Chiming in with the other reports here: I got Premium plus another copy of BF3 included for £25 from Scan at around the Easter time, so about 5 or 6 months after release. At release, Premium was £50. After I sold the spare copy of the base game I had acquired Premium for the grand total of £5.

Can't get better value than that.

Plus it sticks 2 fingers up at EAs monetization strategy

BF4+Premium for £60, gone up to £64 now we are near release, still cheaper than a lot of places.

 

MP runs like a dream, so much better than the beta, and it doesn't seem that far removed FPS wise from BF3.

well i just tried the *ahem* version, rig struggles to run it so i'll be sitting this one out.

 

Played for about 2 minutes. Started the game, got one kill, game ended, I happened to be on the winning team. Somehow that was good for 1700 points, gained level 1! Off to a good start!

 

The Paracel Storm map is fecking insane; really impressive storm effects which subtly alters the gameplay as it closes in. I've never played a multiplayer map like it.
