There's something about planes that get's me all giddy.

I could spend all week walking around the Fleet Air Arm museum and not get bored. I think it's the smell.

I think it might be the smell too. The combined smell of burning and unburned jet fuel. Yum.

Having never been close enough to a proper commissioned jet, I couldn't tell you if it's that, but it's the mechanical and metallic smell they have about them.

I thought you just selected the colourfilter, but no, it was a heck of a lot of work due to the grass in front of the phonebooth.

Decided to re-visit the wreck of the Mulheim at Castle Zawn. I knew a weather front was moving in but decided to go for it anyway and take an umbrella. The K30 is weather sealed, but water on the front element is still going to mess with your shots.

Aiming for mid-tide, I think I mess up the calculations some what. I met a lady walking her dog along the cliff-top who warned me of the high seas. She was very right, the cove was swamped. Not long after taking this, waves large enough to obscure the light house and break over the top of the wreck started to roll in.

Rather than redecorate the cove with my squishy insides I decided to call it a day and climb out of there. On the way up the beach I found a message in a bottle, thrown overboard from a Dutch (Flemish) trawler.

Anyways, short story short; the rest of the storm rolled in, had a sugar crash after climbing back up the cliff followed by a little lay down in the rain. Slowly made it back to Sennen where I bought a can of cola from a nice lady who was closing her news agents for the winter. Then rode the motorbike home completely soaked to the skin.

An eventful Sunday all in all. Now dry, had a cup of Praline tea and sent a reply to the message with a couple of photos attached.

When I bought the new camera this summer, I explained to the guy in the camera shop the kind of life the old camera had, and what the new one would be experiencing. So far the Sigma hasn't misted up, so I count it as a win.

I should really process these together, but whatever.

Two great shots there, love it. Nice story behind them too, which makes them even more interesting!

I think I'd prefer both shots exposed a little lower, or at least with lower black levels. Crop on the second also feels a bit tight, losing the atmosphere of the threatening wx.

But still, as Krikkit said, very nice shots overall :thumb:

Yep, already went back over the originals to lower the overall exposure a little. The first one bothers me that its so bright, but I'm not going to change it on Flickr. Flickr is a good way of sharing photos, but it's also good to look back and see how much I have/have not progressed. If something bothers me enough it'll prompt me to change.

Delete the current file and re-upload, or upload a duplicate? I think DA had a way of replacing an uploaded image but Flickr doesn't? It's been so long.

Stone, did you add the heat trails or did they show up once you changed the levels?

    ------------------------

Looking closely I can see them in the original, such an amazing shot on the edit.

You answered your own question. :thumb:

Pretty soon I'll start revisiting my shots from the USA, and hopefully with LR4/5 I will be able to get even better edits. :)

    Forgot to add a pic:
