Nice work with the PSU cover. It's amazing the finish you can get with a little wet sanding. Looking great and looking forward to seeing more.

    Thanks keenan.

    Thanks Knight!

Same to you too. Thank you very much!

Yep. Shine makes things look really different.
Its allmost impossible to imagine before its sanded.

When i looked that psu, i noticed that i wanna polish some other things too. :)

    Thanks mate!

    [fi] Perkules tosiaan, nimittäin..[/fi]

I noticed that you're from Turku. I actually was the last weekend in there with my wife.
We we're looking at The Rocky Horror Show in Turun kaupunginteatteri. :thumb:

I liked the show, and had a good time, but the trip was quite funny..

First we left the car keys inside the locked car. Managed finally to get the doors open without breaking anything..

Two hours after that someone smashed the back window for the car while we we're shopping.

    Irony? :D

    Some update coming later today..

    Thanks mates!

Thanks phinix. I have been following your latest build from Bill Owen's Facebook posts. :)

    Update

I liked the look of the psu i somehow managed to produce..

So i wanted to continue with the look of it, and did some chages for my plans.

I decided to move those two 120mm Alphacool Nexxos monsta radiators in the front.
And started to build frame for them.

Actually i have to build a totally new frame if i wanna continue with my new idea.

I took a little jumpstart with it.

I did two similar parts as there is in the top of the psu, and welded them together:

I welded sheets to the sides of the frame, and did simple cuts for them:

Filed the cuts and did simple bendings. Now i have windows to see the radiators.
I like to see the parts inside the case. :)

    Cut parts for the ends:

    Filed:

Masking tape is very usefull allmost everywhere. :D

    Attached the plates:

Before welding is important to smooth the edges, then you get smooth welds. ;) :

Welded frame with one fan. I need to make another one, and polish the frame. :thumb:

Should look nice in the front of the case?

    Edit: With both fans..

    Update..

I continued with the idea of making new layout..

So i did holders for the ssd:s, i decided not to use original hdd's at all.

Started with cutting 3 plates and then drilled some holes.

    Bend them..

Ssd's will be attached this way..

    Might look acceptable like this..

But i wanted them to be thicker.

So i cut 3 stripes to be welded to the sides of the plates..

In this way twisted stripes can be straightened easily..

Again.. Masking tape usually does same job as the clamps.. :thumb:

    Little hammering removes the caps.

And corners can be easily bend with the pliers..

    Ssd tray before welding..

And all three of them welded and sanded.
These will be also polished to shine like the psu.

    So..

Here's the new layout what i planned..

Optical drive will be placed above the radiators.

So, should i continue with the new idea, or stay in the original??

Thanks for watching!! Tell me what you think about..

Lol. :D I'll try to show it later. :thumb:

    Thanks mate!

Thats nice to hear. Thank you!

    Just a tiny update..

I wanted to make nice "tray" for the psu.

This one will be polished too.

First i did the bottom part. Simple cutting and couple bends..

    The faceplate to it...

    Some dremeling..

    Drilled holes...

    And filed..

Welded it to the bottom.. And another plate too, welded them both together with one joint..

After sanding it looks like this..

Psu is attached to the frame with four screws from the bottom.

    Thanks for watching

    More coming sooner or later...

You know the polishing is good when the part blends into it's surroundings like a predator.

Quick question why did you open up the sides of the holder for the rad? Most people buy shrouds to separate the rad from the fans so there are no dead spots. If you have different plans just disregard.
