    This is how I see it, form a non-IT / non-Techy perspective:

Thing is, working in IT means basically fixing computers, setting up networks and doing nerdy things to make computers talk to each other; it doesn't really have anything to do with understanding investment opportunities. That's the kind of thing venture capitalists and investment bankers would have looked into or gone probing around to learn about, since it's still currency at the end of the day, nothing more, nothing less. The fact you can 'mine' bitcoins just means any potential investor would get a nerd to build them a machine to do it, or would find out how to do it for them self- working in IT might mean you had more of a chance to be included in the boom, but back then it was far more of an underground thing so mainstream folks didn't find out until too late...

I'm hoping to get mining overnight and see what happens just leave my system running.

Checked the price if LTC from what I found it is currently $35 but that might be wrong.

Here's hoping to break even or epic monies.

I started LTC last night. Any tips?

Do NOT use wemineltc. They skim off 30-40% of the hashes you generate. Use the litecoin calculator to see what you'd expect to earn, and compare that to what you actually earn.

    I've moved to givemecoins.

    How do we sell litecoins?

Folding is normally used to mean folding @ home which uses distributed computing to perform calculations to try and help with medical research.

Mining with give me LTC personally, they seem to have a blip daily where they drop out for a while so I stuck in a backup pool with multipool. I put in multipools jumping scrypt server, so I mine random coins when with them. Maybe one of those random coins will amount to something and I will have random cash sitting there in the future.

So apart from missing the bitcoin hype ..
Litecoin as silver (in relation to bitcoin as gold). What do you imagine the limits of litecoin would be in the next few months?

And what do you think about the crapload of other crypto-coins. Does anyone of you see the next big thing? Or will bitcoin and litecoin be the only ones with that rise in value.
PPC (Peercoin) is being involved with the upcoming springfield trek convention, which might give it a push in demand/value/believability.

Well, I still have two GTX460 for folding@home rig, but I need all the other components to get the rig ready :D Really like what they are doing, it's pretty much my way to do something for "the charity", I've folded 1961 WUs with my GTX560Tis and little bit with 8800GT :p

But hey guys, anyone mining PPC (Peercoin) ?

I'm thinking about the three main "alternative" cryptocurrencies. Litecoin, peercoin and feathercoin.

I've got two Gigabyte 7970's in my main PC which I'm thinking of removing for LTC and replacing with nVidia cards.

What kind of hash rate does a 5850 give?

    I'm guessing you've got a 7950 or 7970 for 700kh/s?
