Is anyone else like me? I can't stop buying hardware that I have no time to use.

I've got a PS3, Xbox 360(x2!), Xbox One, PS4, Wii U, and today I bought a Vita.. and I don't even like games really. I never sit down and play them apart from a few exceptions.. but I can't stop buying the sodding things.

I have played the XBOne, PS4 and Vita for a total of about 2 hours.. and feel like I can't even be bothered to look at the coming soon games to see what I could buy as I'm bored to death with holding a controller.

Anyone else just have to have the things, or has anyone else been like that, and sold-up and not regretted it?

    Bleh.

Must be nice to afford all of those, i simply couldn't afford to do it at the moment, well maybe any moment tbh
I will be saving for the PS4 but i think i will give it some decent usage if i do get one.

If you did not spend on hardware what would you spend the money on?

I'm exactly like you Alex I bought a PS4 then got a Xbox One. I have an Xbox 360 as well as a Wii U (which I just sold) plus my rig is a top end rig but I don't get any time to play games but I just like to buy the hardware. Was looking at a vita but I have to stop myself

Yep.. one of my rigs is this one, and the other just gets used for work crap when I work in the evenings..

It's not just consoles - 300+ games in my steam account worth over £2800, and less than 300 hours TOTAL PLAY TIME omg.

Nope. I have my PC and that's it. Of course, lots of steam games that I haven't the time to play, but that's the beauty of paying £3 a game.

I find the kind of rampant consumerism you talk about kind of disgusting, sorry, I know that sounds harsh, but I can't help but think 'have some self control'. Everything I own gets used, if it doesn't, it's sold.

Think you got it there, No disrespect to AlexB but have you considered that you may have a genuine problem, the term shopaholic is over used but there are reasons behind most peoples excessive spending.

You spend more when you're emotional.

Your spending habits result in added stress.

    You're a compulsive spender.

    You can't live without plastic.

    You're constantly making excuses.

You've tried to control your spending in the past.

I had this issue with the last generation. I've got an Xbox 360, PS3 and Wii collecting dust under the TV, as I spend my gaming hours on the PC. So far I've not made the same mistake this time round, though it is still early days...

+1 to the whole 'get some self control' idea.

Find something you enjoy and actually spend time doing then spend your money on that.

    Hey chaps.

Just came back to say.. I am now addicted to the Vita.

Ha ha. Still haven't played any real games on the consoles, but the little vita is ace - easy to stick on and play for 10 minutes. Much like an iPad but without (so much) **** touchscreen interaction. Things like LBP, Tearaway, Gran Turismo (PSP) are ace.

Shame there are so few good games on it.
