Windows Battlefield 4 Discussion Thread

Play BF3 Rush, the attack jet's gun has been massively nerfed for 4, range, accuracy and especially damage per second. That last bit might be a good thing, in 3 it's possible to kill two tanks in one run purely with the gun.

The fighter jets in 4 are basically worthless, DICE nerfed all the wrong things there.

 

I can take a tank, AA, IFV or attack craft down with one squirt of the cannons, wait briefly so they don't over heat and then follow by a full burst. How is that under powered?

The heli is under-powered, heat seakers take an age to reload meaning you can't defend yourself from an attacking jet and the TV missile is a joke. You can't one shot infantry with it and it would take 3 shots to kill a tank.

It should be the most powerful thing on the battlefield.

 

The problem is that the fantan, or frogfoot, is in every single fking air map. It was op in rush games by a skilled pilot, and is op, in bf4 from a skilled pilot. A skilled tank however, playing solo, no rep, can easily be taken down, in one straf from a fantan, attack heli, or a a few guys firing mbt law's.

 

The heli is bs indeed imo. It can one straf a tank, just rocket pods and take it down, and yet has a ridiculousl ammo count for both the pilot and gunner. I mean I know they wanted to tone down how active an attack heli could be, but I actually would prefer a slightly higher ammo count, but a lower dmg per shot against armor. Oh and rpg insta kills a heli, but a tank shell doesn't? What the fk is that about?

 

Just playing some BF4 for the first time in a month..... so far no crashes!

 

Yeah the crashes have been fixed for me with the last couple of patches.

 

Exactly like BF3, I had to underclock my video cards (to reference nvidia clocks instead of MSI's) and the game hasn't crashed since. It's quite stable now

I'm pretty upset about the performance hit that anti aliasing has, though. I don't feel like upgrading my video card(s) when I can run the game at medium @120fps but can't run it at 120fps when set at low and with some AA. It's frustrating :-/

Im finding glitching in smoke now which wasn't present before all the patch bs.

Also performance is down from what it was.

Finding it very hard just to not go back to bf3 tbh!

 

Battlelog is down!

 

I couldn't play Rust because of ddos attacks, then i cant play BF because the damn thing is broken like fuus mentioned

So Battlelog itself is up, but won't load any servers for me (BF3). BF server status says everything is fine. Wut?

edit: Nope, everythings down now.

 

Everything is indeed down. What's happened here is they've tried to patch something tiny again and broke the whole of Battlelog. As I understand it this is global, so pretty much every BF3 server on the face of the Earth is empty at the moment. I can't say I'm surprised... I mean, it's EA. We should expect this sort of thing by now.

 

Asside from some problems joining a game here and there, ive had about 3 crashes in total. game has been great and i love it.

also, wasnt there supose to be a premium event today (30th)? ive seen litterally nothing.

The Mantle patch has been delayed too. I was rather interested to see if it would make a difference. I was looking to upgrade my 560ti as it seems to struggle at times. A large percentage of my deaths are due to fps drops, which is annoying.

The issues revolving around Battlelog yesterday where more than likely due to a DDOS attack that was happening on several gaming services a specific streamer was trying to use/play/stream.

I don't want to mention that persons name as it just hypes up the streamer as well as the attack, google searches etc.

In anycase I played yesterday without any issue, no crashes/lock ups etc.

 

What's the best field of view settings for a 1080p monitor?

 

I've got mine at 90 as it was in bf3.
