    hey all,

Looking at building a new PC but only have a budget of about £450 - Also, I am ideally looking for a smaller case to fit everything into instead of a mid tower case. What should I look at getting? Budget is kinda everything here so cheaper the better.

Also, I would need to get a Windows 7 copy as well so I know that takes about £65-£70 up.

PC would be mainly for regular usage and browsing but would be good if I can play a few games on it.

    Cheers

Are you reusing any parts or do you need everything, if you're lucky you may be able to get a cheap copy of windows 8, I would of sold you one but i used my last one the other day, sold two on here too :(.

Usually AMD on lower budget builds, I have to go out now but il check replies later on and add my 2pence in and see if I can help advise you.

I would need everything apart from the DVD drive. Yeah, I did think AMD would probably be best to be honest.

I think just the rig for the time being. Could do with a new Mouse/keyboard/Monitor but not 100% needed

finding it difficult to recommend anything lower spec than this...
    £510
    Remember to ignore Scansure.
Just pop any old storage drive in as HDD's are massively over priced now.

that will be a really solid system if your willing to save up the extra £60

It will look fit as well, all black and stealthy, even the PCB's :D

... im a total Black PCB whore.

I forgot about this thread il get on it :).

Wouldn't get tall ram, I would get normal height ram to ensure 100% cpu cooler compatibility.

That motherboard is utter tripe for fx CPU's, avoid it.

Don't want to get into an argument but :

    1. That cooler ain't the greatest especially for a cpu that runs fairly hot anyway.

    2. Can you populate all 4 ram slots with that memory? Also not the clearest of pictures but it looks like it could be g.skill ripjaw possibly? and if it is then afaik the heatsinks aint as tall as the vengeance, the vengeance lp is the same price/cheaper and ensures 100% cpu compatibility with the possibility of populating all 4 dimm slots in the future if need be.

    3. Yes that motherboard is crap for decent cpus. The 760g chipset isn't the greatest.
