Do the cheaper one. It's a choice between 8 SATA and 10 SATA, and frankly if you're using that many SATA connections in a PC you're doing something wrong.

Knowing more about your intended use would help though.

^ The man speaks truth regarding the amount of SATA, there is no need for 10 sata unless its a server ?

Usually i'm a heatsink whore, but is the extra heatsink actually cooling anything that would affect its performance with regards to overclocking ? Probably not.

Also - Gold, really Asus, really.

I quite like the gold, it's sophisticated like D&G (or is that Gucci?) :p

Well I only thought about 10 sata ports, as I am using 7 at the moment (bluray drive, dvd drive, SSD, 3 HDD's and esata for front panel). Also which one would pair better with a 4770k.

They both have the same chipset, they're both from the same manufacturer. Both will pair beautifully with a 4770K.

Were I you though, I'd skip upgrading that 3570K you have and build a proper file server. Also isn't that DVD drive redundant seeing as you have a Bluray installed too?

I was going to be passing this on to my dad as an upgrade, then try my hand at a 4770k. Also I still use the DVD for burning.
