Ah such a nice comment. Really thank you, it's comments like the above that push this build to get completed faster and faster. It'll keep us back for another build this year!

Haha yeah. It's a lovely feeling now seeing something we planned so long ago starting to fulfil its design!

Haha but no worries! Thanks for dropping by, love comments, good, bad or ugly! Just nice to interact with everyone.

Haha well I'm getting it in the ear about why couldn't I have a nice small ITX system for the bedroom. Explaining why it's the same size as her is tricky.

You'll have to stand in-line, though J did say its mine. :worried:

All that drinking is causing you to have re-lapses, right? :eyebrow: :p

Justin, the build just notched up another gear with the lighting! Can't wait to see the rig completed with the fluid in and the lighting running throughout, the frosted glass is give it that different look IMO!

Await your next update guys/girls! Woo-hoo!

    Custom raid card waterblock

    Another update all!

As mentioned previously we more than had to do something about the raid card. Not only for aesthetics but to help with the cooling. The passive cooling is pretty weak and not helped by the lack of any system fans near by.

Now this is what I love about modding; never throw anything away! I've been saving this little EK bridge block for about 6-7 years. I didn't even buy it back then to use it just saw it going cheap second hand. I since rescued it when I was visiting my parents over Christmas. Now we put it to use! So perfect for the job:

Next we cut a small piece of 5mm clear and tapped it for the fittings:

We then cut the 5mm black acrylic lid. Used a 1mm deep V bit to make a nice detaling. Also trying to keep within the XSPC style here:

Copper block installed with M3 bolts; as you can see O ring doing its job:

Passive cooler removed and fresh thermal compound added:

Clear acrylic and block installed to the raid card:

Grabbed the old springs from the passive heat sink to help reduce risk of over tightening:

With the top installed; wow we are super happy at this point:

For what was a relatively quick to make solution... over the moon. It took a lot of time to get the measurements bang on but the rest went together super easy:

Installed in the case with 2 x LEDs for a test fit:

Certainly fits the XSPC monster now and look forward to not having any temperature issues. *In theory at least...*

Thanks for stopping by... another update very soon!

Haha thanks Pex. Don't forget you are also said 'mental', you agreed to braid that PSU haha.

    Haha, remember you're a womble!

Thanks blade, was super happy when that old copper section fit!

 don't worry I'll send you an email with my fees !

Thanks ab, genius is a bit far but thank you. As for the watercooling... kinda haha. Its more for looks that thing is so ugly before hand.
However a passive cooler for a raid card with 8 SSDs in a spot in the case that isn't getting much airflow.... w/c had to be done. I mean I have more than enough rads so ;D

    I like this :thumb: ^^

I like this as well :D magic and madness for sure present.

Cheers. It is really nice for us to see render turn reality.

:D I remember a comment with someone saying you HAVE to do something with that raid card.. so thats what we did. Hmmm if I'm honest at this stage just give my business partner a pat on the back for going along with such a huge project and performing his CAD skills..... oh maybe some more acrylic tube.

Better late than never I hope? Oh thanks for the kind words. More to post very soon!

It's the little things that sometimes just *do* it for me. That raid card was one of them.
