Great Job Parvum boys, truly epic...

 

Just seen the RAID card, amazing work. My mCubed BigNG gets SUPER hot (like, oh-look-I-have-a-heatsink-imprint-burn-on-my-finger-now hot) and I've got a little (northbridge maybe?) heatsink that I'm planning on using on that. Your solution is wonderfully elegant. I'm also very jello of your tap, looks like a nice bit of kit.

Thanks Parge, kind words there. Just nice to look at the temp on the raid card and see it a lot cooler. Had a few people warn me about performance problems when running big raid configs due to heat so why not watercool! It's a great little tap, looked up a high quality manufacture in Germany and found the correct size on eBay. Super fun to make your own G1/4 threads!

To the update!

We start by cutting the 'final' top panel:



That took some SERIOUS measuring skills that's for sure. Couldn't have done it without our trusty digital caliper. To any modder looking for a new tool... it's the one of course:




Now we have to get to work on the pump/res connections. Sorry to anyone who is big on symmetry. Lines pretty hectic here also:







Installed an additional D5 in the second layer of the top panel... more accurate measuring require of course to allow it connect directly to the fitting below:



Next... despite having the wonderful b neg help us out and bend the tubes for the front of the case we just could not get it to fit in with the build, even trying to make the front panels cover as much of the bend as possible it still didn't look neat enough.

So more measuring... more replacement panels... so many replacement panels...!

MUCH happier for sure. Both will be filled with white coolant. Really cant wait for this.

I love the way the tube and fitting is sunk into the panel .. really cool and I can't get my head around how you've been so accurate with it ...wonderful

Mainly down to tolerances in the CNC and how good your measuring gear is. Most things take a few goes to get that perfect but on this one we aced it first time. Happy bunnies for sure.

 

Wow! Well done guys, that front panel, such accuracy, those fittings look as thou they have melted back into the acrylic.

Using fittings for the front is brilliant and much much better looking (hardtubes shouldn't be bend imo) Going to look epic once filled!

Maybe that's how we did it! Heated up the fitting and pressed it in! Haha, I wish it worked that way and thanks, it came out really nice and we will use the method again.
