Graphics RE - Custom PC March 2014....

This in a nutshell.

I need to buy a new graphics card to use G-Sync (already bought the upgrade board from Nvidia US). GTX 580 is less than the GTX 650 Ti minimum

 

That's a damn shame, the 580 is twice the card the 650 Ti is and yet it's now reaching obsolescence.

 

Typical of Nvidia though.

Didn't Ben say he would consider buying a Nvidia GPU specifically for the PhysX demonstrated in The Witcher 3?

 

I'm sure he said that he would never buy a GPU for just one game though?

I do enjoy the bells and whistles of PhysX personally even though it only includes a handful of games in my library. Don't think I'd return to AMD cards anyway since my Nvidia experience has always been trouble free!

 

Bought a stock GTX 760 from Scan for a song 6 months ago to play Metro. Haven't fiddled or upgraded since. Just enjoying playing for once.
Makes a refreshing change to not keep pissing around fiddling with pointless overclocks and money wasting 'upgrades'

 

I wouldn't replace one with a 650 Ti either I'll see what's out in ~2 months.

 

I think Ben needs to chit or get off the pot..

 

Last Light? oh my, that was a superb game. One of the best of the year IMO.

 

The only time I've bought a new graphics for one game was when I wanted to play X3:Reunion. In fact, I bought an entire new computer to play just that game

 

I built an entire computer for Doom 3. That was the last time I did that though lol. What a load of poo that was

I used to be like that. 8800GTX to GTX 260 to play Batman AA, to 5870 to play BFBC2, GTX 580 on launch week to play on 2570x1440 monitor.

Now I don't buy graphics cards, now I just buy even more expensive lenses to get that one photo, then store it in a bag rest of the year.

I foresee my next hobby to be something more expensive.......

 

Start collecting fine art - that's a great way to spend a lot of money, which you will probably make back again with profit when you decide to sell it

 

I built my whole pc for gta 4 pretty much adn then only played it little as i exhausted the ps3 version

 

Problem is working out what other people class as fine art and not just yourself for the sexy profitssss
