The Cutlass buttons are awfully bright and a bit garish.

But it's nice to be able to use the bed, and the seats and the turret (which has awful visibilty btw)

BitSec is now at 47 members! Keep recruiting guys - we need all pilots we can get our hands on.

Yeah, the roster on the front is no longer maintained. RSI will be setting up an equivalent page that means we don't need to bother :)

My X-55 RHINO H.O.T.A.S. is in the house, a day earlier than expected.

I just wanted to write a blurb here for the moment, as a full evaluation will take some time.

First impression; OMG it’s huge! From another’s review on the SC forum, I was concerned that it may be a bit dinky in both size and weight, in my humble opinion it is not!

The only comparison I have to give is to my Extreme 3D Pro Joy stick. Both the x-55 Throttle and Stick weigh in at 2.4 pounds (1.08 kg) each! My 3D Pro Stick that I thought was heavy enough, weighs only 1.6 pounds (0.72 kg).

And as far as size is concerned, my very stable 3D Pro has a base just under 8 inches (about 20.3 centimeters) square. Each of the x-55 units sits on a base near 7.5 inches wide and almost 9 inches deep, and 2 inches high to boot (approx. 19 x 22.8 x 5 cm)!

The manual and drivers are available to all through http://www.saitek.com/ if you would like to see them in advance.

My UPS Hub and COMBAT Rudder Pedals should be in before the end of the week, and I will get it all hooked up, and see how she flies (pun intended).

    Good Hunting!

Yep, since we have now have members who aren't one BT it was impossible to keep track of anyway. As Cei says we'll have a roster on the organisations page soon anyway.

Thanks for this dude, super useful! :thumb:

Hubba hubba. Gives us a good idea of the scaling of the various ship classes though - the Idris looks tiny!

Even the biggest cruiser is 2-3times smaller than the flagship lol.

Wonder how long before a player earns the flagship. My guess would be under 6months from launch

From what we've heard there's going to be 10 Bengal carriers in the PU, which means they're going to be a) insanely well defended and b) incredibly sought after. I think some of the big guilds will get them (we're talking the 5k+ members ones here), but only once they've built up a fleet capable of taking a carrier off the UEE. I'm sure the UEE won't leave their Bengals by themselves either, but defend them with their own fleets. Six months? Maybe, but it could be longer.

As for the Vanduul flagship? I think those things are going to be scarce, like one or two, deep in Vanduul space. I don't think they'll get to player control any time soon.

As I've said before, my personal aim for BitSec is an escort carrier (see the Vanduul harvester carrier), with a bunch of cruisers and destroyers.

However, the Idris needs updating as it is now 240m in length, rather than 120m

I've created a Bit-Sec info page banner. PM me if you need it in another dimension/format. Hope you like. More to follow.

PS. Those ship comparison charts are brilliant. I love seeing things to scale, more so for this immersive badass game!

Yes of course! As long as they are happy with the Bit-Sec mentality, the more the merrier.
