This.. Was that block like this before polishing? I got that block. I've been wondering should I polish it or not. But if it comes like that I must do it! Also, where you took those thumb nuts? My block camed with ugly ones.
Yes that is what the block looked like before. I spent a lot of time wetsanding and polishing the top. I also have polished the nickel as well. The thumb screws are originally from a Supreme HF. They were originally silver but I have plasti-dipped them black. Then yesterday morning I 'finished' w/ the cabling. I nibbled myself a false floor and the frontside 5.25" bay cover.
Oh, nice. I must polish mine as well now. Did you polish bottom of acryl too? Or is it "clean" already? You got awesome cable management too. This build is so clean.
I polished everywhere. I wet sanded till all machine marks were removed. Then polished. That way it looks clear as glass.
I would only personally do 1000, 1500, and 2000. Anything lower and you'll likely sand off the circles.
Nibbled a new 5.25" side cover. This one is a bit larger to fit the radiator a bit better. Also mounted the false floor properly. Then I mounted the front radiator. A few pics w/ the hardware reinstalled. The last few days I have been attempting to use the Monsoon mandrels. It hasn't been going so good. I went through 8 feet doing this single run and it still isn't right. It is 2-3 degrees off.
Have to fill down these standoffs at some point to flush them. A few macros of some brass filings. Mounted the pump properly. Also shows off the paint job on the Koolance pump body. Will need to give it a touch up before final product. Looks much better than the stock black nickel IMO. View from the backside of the radiator. Got bored. Finished sleeving the fan controller and power/reset cables.
That is a gorgeous build, Sir! This just inspire me to do something with my goodOl' PC-V1200. I keep a very close eye on this.
Thanks. The PC-V1200 is an awesome case. One of my all time favorites Dyed my radiator fans. Finished sleeving the top rad fans. Then reinstalled the system back in the case. Was able to power on the system last night. Had a few issues at first but after resolving them she works great.
Blue coolant fits really good on this build! I think this would look awesome with fully black case. But this is looking good as well. Have you think about some cover on front rad? Or painting it again? There seems to be couple pretty big scratch.
Thanks. The case will be powder coated black once I finish doing all the necessary modification. Likewise the radiators, pump body, reservoir body will all get touchup paint jobs when I take the system apart.
Decided I don't like how loud the DDC is in this system. So I ordered a PWM D5 w/ EK top and casing. They arrived today. Tomorrow I'll polish this up. It is so much bigger than the DDC top. It should look rather good when cleared. And the pump casing. I already did a 5 minute polish w/ some Autosol. I polished & sanded up a couple of EK Supreme HFs. Don't think I'll use either of them for this build since I would like my blocks to match. The polished one w/ a bunch of various Mayhems coolants I have mixed up. And then one that I frosted.
