    I want one. Badly.
I also want the tools to be able to do this sort of work with acrylic - I'm blown away.

I like the look of the carbon better - it helps break the case up. Perhaps aluminium with a facing of some sort on it?

    Haha thanks!

    :D

Yeah I'm going to be going for carbon, should be a little easier to work with too.

So whilst not a physical update, I do have some great news. EKWB has agreed to sponsor the watercooling components for this build! I'm really looking forward to seeing how the parts will work out, not to mention working with EK.

    Cheers bud!

Thanks man, I'll be sure to update with some fresh stuff the moment I can get things on the road. Thinking about seeing if I can find a home for the LED strip you sent me actually, although it may be a little long for this project (would rather keep it that length for a project that will make proper use of it)

Thanks! I'll make sure not to disappoint.

:D Only just saw the FB page feature too, thanks! Really looking forward to having a play with the parts now, should be able to get some proper progress on the way.

    The more the merrier

Oh and definitely go for black/white as I mentioned in Magnus' thread, would look so awesome in that crazy reservoir.

Hey Acrylic Wizard, don't get distracted. You've got a one-off to finish. :naughty:

But seriously, what an awesome project. I love this idea!

A question, to sate my curiosity:

Being less familiar with that flight case, how thick is that area in the "top" half of the case? Building off your earlier idea, I was wondering if it was possible to have a slim rack behind a mounted display panel that concealed a slim Apple USB keyboard and 'magic mouse' (again, something slim). Make a trap door on the side of the "top" section that you can pull out to retrieve the keyboard & mouse and now you have a 100% contained laptop on steroids.

    Thanks man!

I'm building the flight case from scratch, so that top part can be as large as I wish. Whilst I'm still toying with the idea of having a screen in there, I'm moving more towards just keeping it simple for the time being, although who knows what might be in store for later! I definitely like the sound of having room for keyboard and mouse storage in there though, would make a lot of sense too.

Well I've got a couple more for today, plus a load planned for next week (where hopefully things will be kicking off).

    :D

    UPDATE!

I was surprised by the postman this morning, turned out to be the back panel for the main construction! This is great as it means I can now get on with basically all the other parts of the project that require hand work (of which there's quite a bit I assure you). I took a couple pictures of the piece itself, once again I'm very impressed thanks Phame!

I'm hoping to start having a look at modding the RAM tomorrow, how though I'll leave a mystery.

Cheers man! Your packing skills are indeed very superior, heck I reckon even UPS could deliver one of those packages in one piece ;)

    As for the update...

    New bits from EK!

So my care package from EK arrived today :D

Inside were almost all the bits I'll be needing to get the watercooling up and running:

    A supremacy gold CPU block
An FC R9-290X Nickel/Acetal full cover block
    Loadsa fittings!
A few meters of their acrylic tube

Decided to take a few fancy pictures of everything.

AHA! So you have been keeping James busy the last few days.

    Looking good though! Very nice.

I love how original this project is.

I am following this beginning to end.

    Sure thing boss :dremel:

Hehe guilty as charged, although I did merely take him up on his offer... :thumb:

Looking forward to seeing Diamond Cooling up and running, got some serious talent in there. I'm going to try and see if I can pick up some taps today so I can get these threads going, also need to pick up something to be able to join this O-ring cord together with. If all goes well, I might be able to post a teaser tonight with a few holes going. If not, I've got the day off tomorrow, so will be doing as much as I can then (assuming I can get the damn taps that is).
