So Telltale was a jet pro? I didn't know that.

To the point of nobody being on the other team if he's flying. He was like top 5 or something stupid in the EU 1v1 ladder.

Telltale could effectively lock down the sky. I've made the mistake of attempting to fly against him before, and to say that the fight was short would be understatement, it was nothing less than complete obliteration.

That's awesome. I have no problem with people being good, but there's a place for them to play: hardcore, high rank servers. 100 CST jet pro's/whores constantly (DAILY) raping servers which low rank players frequent is just a cheating scumbag move to pad stats. I have no respect for players who do that in BF.

Nubs can only improve by playing with better players. The kind of person that seeks out a sanitised playground only populated by other nubs is unlikely to improve with the same rapidity as someone playing with more experienced folk. No sympathy..

I completely disagree with this, because you are so, so utterly wrong.

Good job that it's your opinion and not actual fact.

Nubs improve best on high quality servers with high quality players and high quality admins. High level players in with the bambies is fine, but they need to be split between the teams as evenly as possible to keep the game overall close.

Occasionally they also need smashing over the head by admins when they start declaring themselves God's gift, even if they do put money into the server sub. This way, lot's of people have a nice time and the server justifies it's expense.

Servers where sh!tbuckets and hackers are free to murder and pillage don't make a good environment, they just get depopulated then closed.

With all due respect to the above 2 opinions, I've been a nub in more games than most. All it takes to get a positive k/d ratio (admittedly not the best metric of success) is to focus/specialise. I don't think we all understand how bad most players of first-person perspective multiplayer games are... they're terrible.

The time I learnt the most about BF2 was on a team of nubs (as a nub) against a team of pros. It was on Kubra dam, and it became apparent within 10 minutes that it was possible to close off one of the two main avenues of advance with 3-4 anti-vehicle mines.

At the end of the day, if you're looking for vehicle only servers you are clearly going to get pwned by other retards who have specialised in vehicles for dozens of hours. Play a normal server, use some intelligence and reap the rewards.

Bah I'll be back on in a week or so when I'm back home for Easter.

I imagine I'll be a bit rusty though, I've just spent a week flying real planes and dem real life physics don't quite translate.

Do you still hang around teamspeak Jess?

I'm not seeking out a sanitised environment, but there are "normal" game mode servers frequented by 99% low skill (50 or below CST) which are specifically targeted by players who belong on hardcore servers playing against other players who can give them a challenge. Such "low rank" servers have rules, and every 100 CST asshole jet whore I've come across goes out of their way to break those rules and stat pad.

I improved just fine playing on normal servers. I went from not being able to hit a thing I shot at to being able to hold my own against the best of them in infantry. As I said, I'm new to Jets and if you think my flying is going to be improved by getting laser painted the second I jump in a bird and shot down within 5 seconds a wheels up every time, you're more of a nub than I am.

Not one single instance of what I was talking about could have been remotely described as close, and there was no split CST 100's. It was one single CST 100 on one team, stat padding like there was no tomorrow.

I didn't say vehicle only servers! Fast vehicle spawn servers, so I could level up faster - and it worked, regular ass raping by whores and all. Come on, you can't expect me to accept that the same 5 or so players join the same server alone at random times of the day to rack up 50, 60 and even 70 plus kills for single figure deaths and not accuse them of deliberately targeting the lower rank players who frequent those servers to get high scores. It's as plain as day that's what they're doing.

Good to hear from you! I take it you're talking about BF3 and not 4?

I just started playing this after picking up a copy in the last couple of weeks. Have to say, after a hectic MP round as assault on Epicenter, I'm hooked (and slightly blown away by it all to be honest).

Hectic is BF3 in one word. Have you tried Gun Master and Squad DM yet?

    Really hectic.

No, not yet, just conquest. Even more hectic? Sheesh.

Epicenter's a fantastic map, it really felt like the enemy could be anywhere in those buildings. Felt like lying down behind a wall and weeping at one stage. :D

    Yes even moar hectic.

Also, I suggest trying domination on the close quarters maps, BFFs sum it up perfectly.

PS, I love close quarters, now that we're three DLC's into BF4, BF3 definitely had better expansions.

I upgraded my video card last night to a GTX 580 (from Crossfired 5770) and now I can play comfortably with the game on the "ultra" preset (was previously just about getting away with a custom preset, mainly "high" with no msaa).

I made the mistake of firing up BF3 late last night for "a quick blast to check out the new card" and joined a Op Metro large conquest game. Before I knew it, one and a half hours had passed and it was gone 2am.

All I can say is "wow!". It's simply stunning.

I came back to bf3 for a few rounds, my god tanking is so much easier in bf3. Yeah ok, the tanks slide around like a cat on ice, but so much easier to spot mines etc etc etc.

So far I've spent most of my BF3 time either at the top or the bottom of the escalators in Metro. I need to try other maps/modes but blimey, there's so much to chose from and the maps are so vast - how am I supposed to get my groove on? I've been away from FPS for so long it's all too complicated for my Counterstrike brain. *twitch* :worried:
