Hi, I'm new to this forum and I couldn't think of a better way to introduce myself than to post my latest project, PipeDream. I've wanted to do a build with copper pipes for a while now, hence the name PipeDream. You could call this project "finished" but in my mind a build is never finished Here's the specs: Case: CaseLabs ST10 MB: Asus Rampage IV Extreme Black Edition CPU: 4930K RAM: 32GB Corsair Dominator Platinum 2400MHz GPU's: GTX Titan 3-way SLI, ends up as 4-way SLI PSU: CM SPH 1300w, ends up as LEPA G1600 SSD 1: Samsung EVO 500GB SSD 2: Samsung EVO 1TB I had a lightbox from coldzero in my last TJ07 build and liked it so much I decided to make my own this time. There's mirrored acrylic in the bottom and LED acrylic on the top. At this stage I hadn't made the 8mm clear acrylic piece that will lay on top of the mirror. That's why the light distribution sucks. More on that later
Motherboard prep. Prepping the motherboard for water. I had to trim the edge a bit on the Bitspower mounting plate for it to fit. Cut of the heatpipe to the I/O cover First pipes installed. I did a leak test over night.
Case arrived. The case has arrived. I chose to have a little white in there with all the black. Windows on both sides puts a little pressure on the cable management
Fitting the lightbox. I mounted EK uniholders under the motherboard tray and a aluminum strip on the other side.
More pipes done. The pipes require a bit of prep not to damage the o-rings. These are the pipes to the gpu's. Installed in the case.
Radiators installed. Got the rads installed. They are HW Labs SR1 480's. Fans are Noiseblocker PL-2's in push pull.
Lightbox finished. Finished the lightbox. I'm sorry but there's no pictures of the final piece of 8mm clear acrylic that was missing from the lightbox.
Cable management v.1 Here's how the cable management turned out the first time, before I upgraded the psu. I also made a cover plate for the bottom chamber that I will redo later on.
Pumps installed and final pipes done. At this stage I called the build finished, but as your about to see it clearly wasn't
New cover plate. I wasn't happy with the current cover plate for the bottom chamber so I made a new one. It's a piece of acrylic covered in carbon fiber vinyl. I then cut out the text PipeDream. I made a lightbox which I'll mount on the back of the cover plate to light up the text.
PSU upgrade. I decided to upgrade psu to a LEPA G1600. Some carbon fiber action on the psu aswell. The pci-e cables on the LEPA G1600 was extremely short so I decided to make custom wires instead.
Custom cables, forth Titan and SLI-lightbox. The custom pci-e cables are done and I've added a forth GTX Titan to the build. I also made a lightbox for the 4-way SLI bridge.
Thanks It would look cool but I try to stay away from colored coolant. It's just a pain to clean everything if you ever wish to change color. I haven't used colored coolant in years though. Plain distilled water with a few drops of PT nuke works for me.
The CaseLabs XXL window wasn't quite large enough, so I made it bigger to show of the PipeDream logo. I also put in 5mm acrylic for stability. I will try to take some better photos without the reflections when I have the time.
That is an excellent build. Too bad you lost the touch of white in the sleeving the 2nd time, but way better than the split gpu cables first time. Top Notch.
