By some accounts the docking AI can actually take longer than the 9 minutes allocated to dock. It's easier to dock yourself, especially if you bind a HAT or two to act as strafe and four thrust directions. Makes getting on the pad really really easy.

 

Yeah, I suspect the docking computer is going to need some work before ED hits official release. To be honest in the original I did not use the docking computer either because it was too slow for me.

By the way, the new station interior of Vonaburg Station at Wyrd looks absolutely awesome:

 

Forget the docking computer I want an autopilot.

Just followed an unidentified signal source and found about 15 containers of gold hanging in space! Annoyingly in a Sidewinder so could only pick up 4.

After realising I couldn't sell them on the commodities market, I headed to I Bootis and after two terrifying scans on the way in (they show up as 'Stolen' in your cargo hold), I managed to flog them on the black market for 20,000CR. Lovely little boost!

 

And a cup holder.

 

popping down to Tesco then Im back to see if I can get this working in Dk2, will check in if I get it working and what its like. if positional tracking works in the cockpit then this is going to be very good experience.

I found the above much better for getting my PS3 controller working.

Yeah, also someone left about 8 containers of Uranium just hanging around outside a station on the fringes. Ran them in for another few thousand credits. Easy money.

Saw an eagle for sale for 16,000 credits somewhere. Is that a good deal? Is that the next ship to buy??

Never liked the Eagle. I'm gearing up my Sidewinder then holding out for a Viper Mk. III!

 

It would be a small boost, not worth that to me though, I'd pay the 5K I've seen for it at Ovid though.
