I am looking to get a new 24" Monitor and my budget is coming in at a very tight top end of £150, so i seen the following monitor with free delivery from Scan Opinions greatly received http://www.scan.co.uk/products/236-...or-2xhdmi-vga-1920x1080-80m1-250cd-m-1ms-vesa
£144.97 delivered. 27' VA Panel. I have one, they are amazing value. http://www.acerdirect.co.uk/Acer_V276HLbd_-_27_VA_LED_Backlit_LCD_Monitor_UM.HV6EE.013/version.asp?PID=575
You get used to it quickly and it isn't that much bigger than a 24 on the desktop. Fantastic monitor for the money and from a reputable company as well.
These guys offer a discount to BT members, call them and see if you can haggle down on this (they are really friendly and helpful apparently too) : http://www.nrgit.biz/product/24-inc...-dell-ultrasharp-monitor-fro.html?c=130&p=277 I don't know what acer are like for monitors, but I would never touch one of their laptops. Also only 1080p at 27 inches? There is an Amazon review that confirms that the build quality isn't very good either. Its basically just a big monitor with zero frills, not something I would buy as I believe a monitor is a long term investment. But it depends what is more important for you and only you can decide that.
I'd take a VA panel over a TN panel of the Asus any day - especially on a larger monitor, unless you're specifically going for 3D or >120hz. 1080p at 27" isn't a huge problem once you get used to the slightly visibly blocker pixels - it's perfect for gaming on a weaker rig IMO, more immersive than 24" and no need to scale to run at native panel res.
I'll second the NRG IT guys, They did a deal with me and can't recommend them enough. Great service too. The panel I received was faulty and they replaced it the next morning! I second only a 24" too and I'll say get a Dell. the IPS panel I have is lovely and for only £100 next day delivery included and 1 yr warranty
I get all that but looking at it and using it for the past 7 months tells me it is a really decent monitor. If someone can point out its 'flaws' to me whilst running around Crysis 3, fair enough but I think people believe a load of pseudo science half the time instead of their own eyes when it comes to monitors.
Thanks for all the input guys. I have trawled through the interweb for hours and eventually went with the one in my original post. Getting it tomorrow from Scan with free delivery
