Hi Folks this is one of my 2 Scratch Builds that I have started. This one is Called 'Elementa'

The name has come from the latin word for Elements and i had the idea of some of the periodic table laser etched into the side panels with the various elements that have been used in the project some thing like this but into copper plate. [IMG]
The Case has been made from a 100+ Year Old Drawer from a beaten up Chest that needed more money spending on it to repair it than it was worth but the Oak and Pitch Pine could be put to better use.
I have had a desire to build a Wood and Copper PC for some time now and have had a half arsed attempt in the past over the past year I have invested into the tools and equipment needed to be serious about Modding and have become friends with Nate from E22 who has helped me a great deal and does design and create things for me to use in my work.

Hardware List :
Asus Z97 K ( On Way From Asus)
Intel i5 ?
Corsair 16GB Dominator GT (Got)
PSU Siverstone 1000w (Got)
GFX ?
SSD Corsair ?

Here is what we have going on so far:

1st update

So while hunting for bits of suitable copper and brass for this Project I found some Antique Brass looking Strip that would make a good trim for the front of the case around Where the Radiator and Fans are:

So I am shaping the metal to the wood with clamps before I Glue it:

Next up I was thinking about the loop and where to locate this Copper Alphacool Reservoir I have had for a while waiting for this project :

Perfect Match for the Theme what do you think?

That’s all for now folks :thumb:

The Bit where it all went Arts and Crafts

Hello again folks I took a trip to B&Q Today and found this rather suitable perforated Steel Sheet:

[IMG][/IMG]

So after 5 mins with the Jigsaw and test fitting the new grill I had a feeling that the Project had Started looking a little Arts and Crafts like.

[IMG][/IMG]

For a minute In my mind I was William Morris and for those of you who are thinking what is he going on about has he been around to many solvents ?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arts_and_Crafts_movement

So back in the real world it was time for some Etch Primer and a trip to the Paint shed

[IMG][/IMG]

Earlier in the I day took this Lian Li motherboard tray that was donated by E22 some months to the same Paint shed and give it few coats of Copper Enamel

[IMG][/IMG]

That's all for now folks hope this is enough to keep you going for a day or so :thumb:

Have looked at this option and even thought about a desk style but as I have the res of the cabinet to play with that is for another time.

Yes I was just going for what i felt would look right whilst trying to avoid the term steampunk that gets labeled to PC mods that use wood copper or brass but the Art Deco vibe is there for certain by complete chance :D
