As a few people have mentioned this, I'll organise it if people would like to contribute to a funeral arrangement. Please PM me if you'd like to be included and I'll contact his family to ensure we have time to put it in place.

Edit: the family would rather contributions go to MIND, see GeorgeK's post below for details

    .
I don't know what to say.
KidMod always seemed so cheerful in his posts here. He's the last person I would've expected this from.

I'm shocked and deeply saddened to hear news of Alessandro's passing, RIP.

Always had a cheerful way with him, cheeky but a great kid, will be missed.

My thoughts/prayers go out to his family, my condolences.

    Wait, What?!

I was away for less than a day and this happens? I'm in absolute shock.

What an incredible shame; he was an incredibly nice guy and we'd exchanged many conversations about such random things, even in private. Man, I wish he'd told someone he had problems. RIP Alessandro, you will be missed immensely. This makes me sadder than any celebrity; he was a thoughtful, intelligent guy with a lot of great things to say; many of us called him a real friend and will miss him.

Don't worry Kid, we'll all Spam enough to make up for you.

I'm not sure I ever interacted with him but I remember reading a lot of his post.

I genuinely felt like I was punched in the chest and had a lump in my throat when I read this.

I read his last ever post and it was obvious he was finding things over whelming, just wish he had reached out as there are so many genuinely caring people on here that would have helped.

I suffer from depression but I'm lucky that I have 2 kids that keep me going.

Really wish he had reached out.

Hope you are happy where you have gone mate.

It could a stupid idea on my part, but what about some kind of news article on the homepage? He was a massive part of the community, it would be at least a small way of showing our remembrance.

It's sad to lose such an active member for any reason but this is very sad indeed.

I'm only on the periphery of things around here but Kidmod stood out as one of my favourite members - he always seemed to be able to keep things light-hearted and kept the humour rolling. It's so strange to think that behind it was a different story.

If they feel comfortable, I'd appreciate hearing some more background to this news from someone in the know, perhaps after some time has passed, if indeed anyone knew.

I'm in the same boat. I never really crossed paths with him on the forum but still his loss still has impact.

RIP a sad loss to all - as someone who mainly lurks these days, I didn't converse with Kidmod all that much, however I always thought he sounded like a good person, with a solid sense of humour.

Bit-Tech has lost one of the better members I feel.

    Dear all,

I have heard from Kid's grandfather (David / captain firespray) and he is touched by all of your kind and thoughtful comments.

He would prefer that, instead of contributing towards a wreath for the funeral, donations were made towards a mental health charity as, in David's words, "perhaps then others may not allow themselves to reach such a stage of desperation if they felt able to express their thoughts".

As such I have set up a JustGiving page in Kid's memory at

    https://www.justgiving.com/kidmod

in support of Mind - The Mental Health Charity. I know that they are a fantastic charity who do amazing work with people with a range of mental health problems and, in their own words, are here to make sure no one has to face a mental health problem alone.

It's a shame - he always came across as a genuinely nice guy. Rest in peace Kidmod, you will be missed.
