PSU Confounded by Corsair Link

OK, so corsair link sounds good with some extra control and info and such, but I have no idea what the extra 4-pin socket is for on the back of my sexy new hx850i, it's placed just above the link USB connection on the left of the PIC below.



Any help appreciated, thanx

 

It's to do with the old style Corsair Link connector I think:

 

Hmm strange, why did they put both cables in the box then if they both connect to USB header? And the older one needing a second cable, I'm still confused lmao

And the cable in that pic (small one) does look like the one for it, except the one i have looks far more breakable and dainty

 

Oh! Is it possible that one connects to the actual corsair link control box?

 

Yes, or (iirc) to your H80i/H100i pump unit, if you have one.

 

While using something just because you have it is kinda pointless, I'm glad I will be as for the CPU I'm gonna shoot for the h80i i5 4790k bundle on scan, gotta love a good saving xD
