I know its a day late, but I will show you a quick update now

So, we got some more machining done today, but did not have the time to do it all. The blocks are machined in 3 steps, and we need to run the last finishing pass to give it that "ohhhhhhhh shiiinyyy" look.







That is all I got for now I hope to be able to get some more shots soon!

Alright guys - minor setback. I will leave these pictures here, and see if any of you can spot the error on this panel. A new one is already half way done. On the bright side, I could test out finishes on this one. I tried a mirror polish, and two different types of micro glas blasting. I decided on the rough glas blasting as that fits the overall theme the best IMO.









Thats all for now. This setback was really a kick in the ballsack as it takes precious time away from the other panels. But **** happens

tried to spot the error, but ended up just looking at the panel in amazement with what i can only assume was a stupid facial expression...

 

Awesome-est failure ever.
My only guess would be the material wasn't thick enough, and those flat spots are not supposed to be there.

 

Looks like the angle on the top left polygon flattens out too soon, is that the fault? Mind the original render is made of tris, and this one has quads, so I'm confused!

 

Its milled upside down.

Rotate the slot work 180 in your head....
