Oh man, I miss listening to Triple J. The Hot 100 on Australia day is class. Mate of mine had the "Hottest party" one year. Went to the One night stand gig when I was living in Mildura.

They stream online (including the Hottest 100) if you are now living in other parts of the world.

May I recommend TYT. Their political commentary is very good and focused on the facts, not flag waving for one side or the other. They have a progressive bias but do not translate that into support for the democratic party (in fact hey are frustrated that they is no viable progressive option outside of Elizabeth Warren who has still been criticised for having to make donor based concessions). They will call out both sides and will praise both sides (rare these days) depending on the argument rather than the person making it.

They are the world's largest on-line news show and are funded by members rather than advertisers and therefore are not restricted or coerced to say a particular thing or toe a particular line.

The hosts will often disagree on points and debate it and although I don't always agree, it is fair.

So when the armed response unit turned up at the murder of Lee Rigby, they were confronted by not one, but two guys, who were clearly both armed, and a threat. Yet they only shot them enough to stop them, and they both lived to go to trial.
Maybe US cops could do with a chat with UK ones on how to subdue a suspect without killing them?

If they were held to UK (or German, French) standards and all wore action cams the way they do here, no doubt a lot fewer people would get shot (and when they did explanations would be more forthcoming, at least within the Police since US law enforcement can be a bit... opaque at times).

Personally I think that a clean headshot would have been a more pragmatic solution in that particular case.

Having shot plenty of rabbits, trying to hit a rabbit sized target (since a head and a bunny are about as big) that's moving and capable of striking back and has things that you don't want to hit behind it (as opposed to the North Yorkshire Moors) doesn't appeal to me, or the innocent bystanders in the two hundreds meters behind said target.

I was implying a shoot-to-kill approach, really. It doesn't have to be the head.

But yeah, the price of being the good guys...

Yeah, shoot to kill on Britain's streets according to on site assessment of crime committed rather than perceived threat. Lets go Judge Dredd on their asses...
    :sigh:

Okay I have no problem with that but only if I get one of those cool flying motorbikes from the original movie.
