Scratch Build – In Progress Addison - Final photos page 6

First day of three day shoot. I get about 45 minutes of perfect lighting. GTX970 is "Out for Delivery" so I can't take inside or backside shots. Came in at 10.6 liters compared to a BitFenix Prodigy at 26 liters.

Thanks Jeff. Fairly pleased with the first try. I need to work on the front bumper shadowing. Needs more definition and less washed out brightness. The paint is too fresh and hasn't gotten its matte patina yet.

First off...Big thanks to Gigabyte VGA for providing this video card.

The dream of the 970 just dropping in kinda went up in smoke. Wasn't too bad though. The MSI and Gigabyte cards share the same single 8-pin power plug but the Gigabyte's is turned the other way around. My custom low profile cable suddenly had to do yoga. Works fine and doesn't look too bad but I'll have to remake it.

Ran 3DMark Firestrike on it and got a 9349 which I guess is pretty good. Better than 97% according to the results. That was stock. I'll play with the OC stuff later. More importantly Far Cry 4 options are all maxed out including some acronyms I've never heard of.

Crazy thing is the 970 has a 25W lower TDP than the 760 I pulled out of there. Fan speed got up to 56% during benchmarking.

Now where can I find a hang glider?

 

I don't know where to start, absolutely in love with this build. You got everything going here, exterior, interior, craftsmanship, energy efficiency, mind blowing classic design. I really am a true fan of your work, please let me know next time you start something up!

 

As always, your fit and finish is fantastic. The wood looks like it was carved from a solid log. Unfortunately, the finale means no more crotch jokes, and a gap until you get the urge to build again.

 

It's obvious a lot of care a patience went into crafting this build. There's just something nice about a good, clean form without the distraction of fancy lights and gizmos.

The raw wood edges mate with similar raw wood surfaces in the decorative cover. Any kind of paint or finish on physical contact surfaces tends to not work as smoothly as these waxed raw wood surfaces.
