I am doubly glad I bought it then! It will be high on my list of games to play I hold you responsible for..everything. My Sith, he watches... and waits. BOW BEFORE.....wait...wait too much power! It corrupts..just like the Jedi say.. Noo, no what a silly thing to say pffft..you will burn for every ...no! Damn it...the dark side..it's..it's..too...argggghhh
I completely disagree. I loved portal and i hated Mirrors Edge. In my opinion the social commentary lacked an subtlety, the characters and cut scenes were far from engaging and the movement was nauseating. Each to their own I suppose!
Sorry to hear that you didn't enjoy. I don't disagree with any of your points, but to me they were background noise to the feeling of speed and elation when successfully linking runs, jumps, slides and turns at speed high above the streets. I just wanted to keep playing and playing, running and running.
Hotline Miami 2 Pretty solid but totally worthwhile with the various levels / characters / abilities / weapons! The soundtrack is absolutely brilliant and is so well matched to the different levels! If you enjoyed the first I don't see why you wouldn't enjoy this!
Europa Universalis IV It took some major tactical planning to allow Albania to survive the beginning of the game and then to take down Russia and Spain after they decided to both head off to conquer the Americas and expanded into fairly massive global giants. After getting rid of every other nation, I eventually wore them down to zero manpower and took over enough trade routes to lower their income enough to slow down their ability to recruit mercenaries. It was an excellent challenge as I started off with Albania in a single province of land, immediately at war with the Ottomans. I had to sacrifice my leader and starting army to hold them off long enough to build up a big enough mercenary force to hold my land whilst I also built a solid alliance with Hungary and Poland. As I've played a few times, I knew both of those countries get quite strong at the start of the game so it was a safe bet that they'd rescue me if I got them to like me enough... so while they launched an assault against the Ottomans, I went and lay siege to Byzantium and Athens to gain a better hold on trade. My next challenge in the game is to create a custom nation and start from Iceland in Iron Man mode, that'll be a bit of an extreme challenge (an insanely slow one as well) as they start off with a very low limit on their army and navy with no way to fabricate a claim on someone else's land.
Hotline Miami, at first it was one of those games that i've played for 15 minutes and left alone (or uninstalled, usually due to me not liking them) as it was very frustrating, but after i gave it another chance i was hooked.
MoH Warfighter. Only because i got it for free. Wouldn't have bothered otherwise. And still shouldn't have.
Resident Evil: Revelations 2. Started off not liking this but found I really got into it even though there were many faults, under powered weapons, slow reactions but it was fun. Not sure what the point of the partner was with both the main characters you played in turn except to find hidden stuff. What spoiled the game completely was the final boss which came directly after a major battle which takes virtually all our ammo and I just did not have the bullets to defeat this boss so I used a trainer. If you can get it cheap then it is worth a punt.
Dying Light finished. Good game, fun gameplay, great free running for an FPS. Crapped on by the worst final mission of all time ever.
The Talos Principle, awesome puzzle game with a good story line. if you haven't played do yourself a favour and buy it
LA Noire and South Park - Stick of Truth. I'm a bit behind the times (but it's so much cheaper that way).
Ryse: Son of Rome I'm a bit perplexed by this game to be honest. Undeniably pretty, but very short, repetitive and pretty much a series of QTEs. Whilst I reasonably enjoyed playing it, I certainly won't be replaying it. I don't see why Crytek went this route rather than another shooter. In short? Buy it on sale for £5 or less if you have a reasonably powerful PC, play it on easy and spend an afternoon on it.
Borderlands The Pre Sequel. I thought it was terribly disappointing, in the same group we all played 2 together and thought it was brilliant yet this just felt like a chore ! We jokingly refer to it as Parcelforce Simulator because all you do is drop off and pick up packages for no apparent reason
Just playing through this now. The game is pretty decent but the script and dialogue are just awful....I mean worse than a porn film....
