I got the 770 version and it's quiet besides running very cool. Well go got the evga this time as I'm going sli
I absolutely love the Phantom coolers, so that's a great price on that one... though I can't buy any new hardware until the second half of the year when all my other big spends are out of the way.
Looks like the Phantom might have sold out now, although the stock cooler variant is the same price A really good time to take the plunge if you haven't already!
The Palit 980 is smexy! I'd love one but I'm keeping my 680 until it dies now. Not worth selling it any more.
I bet that p***ed you off. Lets hope Scan sort it out quickly. I received mine from Overclockers which was damaged and sent it back and received a replacement within two days. Excellent customer service and the reason I use them over Scan.
+1 to OCUK for Customer Service and promptness of delivery, I recently RMA'd a 780 (no replacement in stock for obvious reasons) the card had to go back to the manufacturers direct - cut a long story short OCUK offered me a part refund on what I paid for the 780 or an EVGA 980 after a 28 day cooling off period and no reply from the manufacturers... I took the 980
Nice. And to think Overclockers used to be the bad boys of customer service and Scan the good. Oh how things change.
OCUK has better service than Scan? We really are through the looking glass today. "One pill makes you larger And one pill makes you small And the ones that mother gives you Don't do anything at all..." "...and you've just had some kind of mushroom And your mind is moving low Go ask Alice I think she'll know..."
When you phrase it as "the Germans have better service than the British" it all suddenly makes much more sense.
AS far as I am concerned yes Overclockers has a far better customer service than Scan these days. Scan used to be the best but this has long gone. I rarely use Scan these days and it used to be my first port of call.
No... not really. The only time I've had acceptable service from them is when nothing has gone awry. Beyond that, it was a case of ignored emails, ignored phone calls, rude staff and an even ruder manager.
I'll admit, I tend not to use Scan or OCUK much these days so I have to go by the collective feelings on the various gimp geek forums I peruse. My latest big tech purchases have been from Aria, Advancetec, Amazon, CCL and Kustom PCs - none of whom have let me down in the last ten or so transactions I've made.
I can't say I was best pleased but it was hardly their fault. Box was properly sealed and card just offered up a Code 43 and was disabled by Windows. Tried it in two systems with the same result. Used live chat with Scan Support and RMA was issued after going through all the details. Have received the prepaid UPS label today so will post it off tomorrow.
I returned mine on a Friday it was received on the following Monday I received a replacement on the Tuesday.
I called OCUK at 0935 on day 28, I received confirmation by email of my 980 dispatch at 0943 (2 minutes after getting off the phone)
Just a little update on my RMA. UPS arranged by Scan at no cost to me, dropped off at a collection point on Saturday 14th. Collected by UPS Monday 16th and arrived at Scan the following morning. Has been tested and found faulty and now awaiting replacement. So far so good.
