Not sure if I'm asking the impossible, but I'm after a reliable, quiet PSU - between 650-850w would be fine - but for around £80 or less. It'll need to fit into an NZXT H440 case. I'm not running SLI at the moment (maybe in future), but have a single GTX970 on the way. Other than that, 3 x HDDs (2 SSD and 1 mechanical) and an old i5 4570 (I think from memory). I was looking at the Corsair RM series (650w) but keep reading user reports about the cables being a bit naff. Anyone care to share an alternative opinion? Was also looking at the Superflower Leadex 750 which overclockers have for £84 this week, but some reviews report it as being noisy at full load and also quite a large PSU (so not sure whether it'll fit into the H440). Any other suggestions? Thanks guys!
You really shouldn't look any further than the Superflower. I have the 650w version comfortably running an Intel 4690k, dual 970SLi, 3 HD's and 7 fans. The fan on the PSU itself is, to me, completely silent when it actually needs to come on which is very rarely, and i assume would occur even less on a 750w model. You won't have any problem fitting them in a 440 case BTW. EVGA PSU's which also have a very good reputation are manufactured by Superflower but without the white LED connectors and a longer 10yr warranty.
All of these are OEM mfg by Seasonic and have good reviews. Thanks for all the suggestions guys! I'm going to go for the Superflower Leadex I think - the reviews seem great!
