whilst I don't know what it is (I can't access youtube at work) I do have Asrock (Z68) mobo and they tend to make quite good youtube vids explaining some of their mobo technologies, try this....

a cable used for the hard disk saver function to put it bluntly. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8IxICKGWZ64

Anyway it is a common thing for ASRock board to include stuff like this. Personally I find most of it to be useless frills. I am talking about other features like XFast RAM, XFast LAN and XFast USB as those are the main ones I have tried.

Although the HDD saver could be nice to turn off a bunch of those disks.

Seriously. This is one of the most pointless motherboards ever. It has the same problem overwhelming majority of X99 boards - DIMM sockets interfere with first PCI-Ex slot. Another is 1990s 40 mm fan on motherboard. Really? I love sound of dying turbojet engine 24/7... And most ludicrous feature is SAS. You want SAS you go RAID big time. SAS without cache from controller is pathetic. Furthermore controller used to implement additional ports is so lame it's hard to qualify it as a controller. I don't complain because I can't afford it. I do run Adaptec 71605 on my venerable X58 and I would never waste money on this piece of tat.

And price... only dwarfed by ASUS-WS I think. Equally pointless board with ridiculously overinflated price-tag. Everything I came to expect from ASUS.

This board stinks, what a shameful score.

We require at least THREE TIMES this many SATA ports...

If they really wanted to focus on storage they should have gone with SFF-8639 connectors as that is what the NVMe Intel SSDs use...
