Windows Grand Theft Auto V

i got GoT leaked episodes 1-4 to watch tonight then going to have about 2 hours on GTA taking me to 2am ish, going to hand in my bed absence notice to the missus

 

I still quite like my plan. Sleep around 11pm as usual, awake at 7am as usual, maybe potter around on it for an hour possibly, and if it's not a cluster**** play it tomorrow evening!

got GTA V pre-loading on Steam. At 59.0 GB, its a bit of a behemoth...but I'm sure it'll be worth it.

I fired it up shortly after 12 only to find it needed a patch. The patch is only 53.77MB but it's taken over ten minutes so far and it's only just passed 41MB.

I'll go and make a coffee then...

 

got the 53mb update then failed to update.... try again.... >_>

Rockstar f**ked up, stupid f**ing c**ts.

 

First impressions, not good >:-(

Wanted to run the benchmark so I could get my settings right before beginning, but running the benchmark begins the game in the background, while overlaying the hardware test in front... so you hear the story (and inevitably fail the mission in the background) while trying to get your FPS sorted... Only you can't finish the benchmark because you keep failing the mission in the background!

Figured I'd play with settings later, but then get trapped in the opening mission with no menus... wtf

Edit: Steam unlock was fine, just a little slow to unpack/decrypt

 

If you guys were expecting it to work seamlessly on launch, you're gonna have a bad time.

The problems I'm seeing just now look like Steam being overloaded though, nothing Rockstar can do about that.

Using social club here, 350mb update needed after unlock, downloading at 20kbps but keep disconnecting

 

Got mine running after find the updates already mentioned, Set all GFX settings to max, and the game is running smooth as silk at 1920*1200 on a GTX980, I've no idea what fps i'm getting though, as i don't know how to find it in game, i'm sure it's a key combo or something.

Okay, initial hiccup aside... Everything's running smoothly with no glitches on the latest graphics drivers.

R* Have optimised the hell out of the game, and it couldn't be further from the mess that IV was. Will do some 3440 * 1440 screenies tomorrow, for now a good nights rest knowing all will be well!
